You mean, y'all were coached by Pap Hizzy? I just talked to him a little while ago and he didn't say anything about it. Said he spent the day playing dominoes with his boy Sid. Naturally, I teased him about fucking up the board everytime he attempted to lay down a domino.

Also found out some really worrisome news, too. Pop's sister-in-law (his brother's wife) isn't doing very good right now. In the hospital with severe lung issues. Not sure how bad it is but my uncle sounds very shaken, which is very unusual for him. I'm very fond of them both (my Uncle James and Aunt Roberta) so the evening's taken a pretty sour turn.

I mean, this isn't the type of stuff you want to deal with anyway but certainly not during the holidays.

as an undergrad at University of Toronto I double majored in biology & neuroscience

my junior year I took two courses in brain mechanisms & sensory systems with the same professor and absolutely destroyed my class. I approached the professor asking for a position in his lab that summer even though everyone told me he only hired female assistants. I even gave him my student number and asked him to check my scores.

No dice, dude hired a bunch of B grade chicks and told me the dogs & rats in the lab react less aggressively to female assistants.

AA. My thought, it was an honest mistake from a horny chick texting who she thought was her boyfriend. Since she is your assistant you and he are probably #1 & #2 on her contact list. I'd just put that text in a safety deposit box at your spank bank and laugh it off. But yet, make her sweat. It is Christmas after all. Your present just got upgraded.

Lex approves renovated Rupp Arena design...not bad, but would rather have had a new one.

- Rupp Arena seating would increase slightly with the renovation. Metal bleachers would be replaced by chair-back seats. There would be wider concourses and more restrooms. (Architectural Consultant Gary) Bates said there would be some premium boxes, but he did not give a specific number.

- Fans would enter the arena from the Main Street side into a large lobby with space to mingle before and after games. Two large blue escalators would take them to the second-floor concourse to enter the arena.

- Large video screens would be mounted so people outside the arena could see the game, “increasing the sense of inclusion,” Bates said. “If you don’t have a ticket, if you’re not one of the lucky few, you can still be part of the experience. You can still join in pre-game events. You can still be outside and watch on large screens.” The transparency of the walls “increases the fan base, the sense of pride, a sense of belonging,” Bates said.

- Throughout the arena would be state-of-the-art sound and video systems, including a drop-down scoreboard suspended over the basketball floor.

- To visually and psychologically connect the University of Kentucky campus more closely with the arena, a request by the university’s athletics department, Bates proposed a Catwalk, basically a procession route from campus to Rupp that would go from Euclid Avenue down South Limestone to Maxwell Street, then west on Maxwell to the High Street parking lot in front of Lexington Center. It would cut through a parking lot to the arena.

The reinvented Rupp and new convention center carry a price tag of about $260 million.
