So the gauntlet is over. I made it passed the subcommittee, the faculty committee, the dean, the provost, and the President. Last night, the Board of Regents voted for my tenure. Not much of a raise next year, but it means that the Govenor couldn't put out the word to let me go if I publish an opinion on a research topic that he disagrees with.

Every player to reach 3000 hits in the last 60 years has been inducted to the hall of fame on the first ballot except Rose and Palmeiro, who both certainly would have been 1st ballot HoFers as well if not for other circumstances.
