Rick Perry should have gotten that earpiece Bush used in his debates.
The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

jesus christ, what the fuck is going on here? the law is written and it's up to lawyers, juries and judges to decide each case. if it was that cut-and-dried then why were you wasting time in court when you should have been wasting time on the job posting Tosh vids here?and the way the law is written, that is involuntary manslaughter.

I'm not the trial jury, I'm on the grand jury.
Reasonable doubt doesn't necessarily come into play here

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Caught some highlights from the debate last night.
The Perry gaff was pretty funny, most disturbing to me is the people cheering Herman Cain for dismissing sexual harassment charges. The guy says no it didn't happen, admits he did it, I'm not going to talk about it, ok I'm now going to talk about it - wtf?
also, I thought last night may have been Ron Paul's best debate ever.

if I bought amywinhouse a drink am I guilty of involuntary manslaughter?
If I am a bartender and a customer gets drunk and kills a pedestrian after I served him is that manslaughter?

No, but apparently only because trafficking and dealing alcohol is not a crime.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

If you served someone underage or they had a law that made it criminal for a bartender to serve someone over some drunkenness threshold and one of those things happened I suspect they might charge you.

Well, its not unheard of in the world

A bartender in central Alberta was charged with manslaughter today after one of his customers drank herself to death last fall.
The bartender and his boss at Skip Sports Bar in Calmar – 50 km southwest of Edmonton – have also been charged with criminal negligence causing death in the case of Tammy Kobylka.
Kobylka, 22, died last October of what the coroner termed "acute ethanol toxicity."
Alberta Justice spokesman David Dear said such charges are rare, but "the courts have made it plain that bar owners and staff can be liable for the consumption of patrons."

A British hotel guest died from acute alcohol poisoning after being served up to 10 shots of spirits in a pint glass for his birthday at Hayes Hotel, a Thurles court heard today.
The Irish Times reports, that Paddy McCarthy SC, for the State told a jury at Nenagh Circuit Court the pair were accused of gross negligence that caused the death of Mr Parish.
"The final drink served by the barman and okayed by the manager was eight to 10 spirits in a pint glass,” he said.

Aaron Douglas didn’t have the controlled substance that would ultimately cause his death when he called for a taxi cab late May 11, according to police..
En route to the house where his body would eventually be discovered hours later, the former Maryville High School and University of Tennessee football standout bought two Methadone pills from his driver, 50-year-old Rodney Young Odum, who had a reputation as a “mobile drug dealer,” according to police.
Odum was arrested late Monday and charged with manslaughter and sale/delivery of a controlled substance, Fernandina Beach (Fla.) Police Chief James T. Hurley announced Tuesday. Odum is currently being held on $50,000 bond at the Nassau County Jail.
“The combined opinions of police detectives, the State Attorney’s Office, and the Douglas family were considered in determining that Manslaughter was the most appropriate charge in this case,” Hurley wrote. “The victim clearly shares some responsibility for the reckless behavior that took his life. However, Mr. Odum reportedly had a reputation as a mobile drug dealer, making it very easy for the victim to locate and ingest the drugs that killed him.”

""This case should serve as a warning to those who provide drugs to others ... if the person they give drugs to dies, they will be charged," Goshen Township police said in a news release about the Couch case Thursday."

Re: Florida State Seminoles
the difference between overserving someone alcohol and selling them heroin is that it should be apparent at some point the customer is drunk and beyond the ability to consume more booze safely. it's not the dealers fault the heroin user overdid it and ended up dead.
it sounds like yet another legal shortcut prosecutors always like to use when dealing with drug cases.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
BTW, here's a clip (21 min.) of Frank Zappa and a Washington Post reporter going at it on Crossfire in 1986 over the campaign against banning or regulating song lyrics.
The Post guy is a fraud, all over the board on his debate and really is just attacking what he deems to be Zappa, who is a lot closer to Ted Nugent than Neil Young in his politics.
In fact, were Zappa still alive he probably would be a Tea Party darling or at the very least Libertarian to the core.
It's interesting, 25 years later, watching something that probably wouldn't be an issue today. We have parental ratings for movies and music, we're used to a lot worse that Luther Campbell describing the ways he'd hit it and we've got far worse problems to debate than shit like this. I guess the 80s weren't as bad as I remember.
