FOX 29 in Philadelphia is reporting this evening that the number of potential victims is now closer to 20 following a spate of new allegations of sexual abuse.

If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Honestly I think Joe is getting a bad rap. He's fucking 84 years old. This.happened in his 70s. He never should have been coaching in his 70s to begin with. I doubt he was actually coaching then anyway.

Thank goodness for Joe Paterno not leaving the college game in the hands of the Barry Switzers and the Jackie Sherrils and keeping the game clean all those years.

Re: College Football
eCat...get off your ass and do something.Mike Leach interested in Ole Miss
Water is wet, the sky is blue and the name of Mike Leach has come up in reference to a job opening. [Leach said Tuesday] he hasn’t had contact with anyone from Ole Miss, but said he’s interested in the pending coaching vacancy created by Monday’s firing of Houston Nutt effective at the end of this season. “I haven’t heard from anybody, but I’m not too hard to find,” Leach said. “It’s a great job. I’m sure the (Ole Miss) administration has a certain individual it is looking for, and I’m sure they’ll find the right guy.” … [Leach] is in his second season away from the sidelines following a 23-year coaching career.

Re: College Football
This may take a turn for the worse if that is possible
"Sportswriter Mark Madden went on WEEI in Boston and reported a rumor that alleged child molester Jerry Sandusky would pimp out boys to rich donors. “I hear a rumor that there will be a shocking development from the Second Miles Foundation … That Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to rich donors.”Madden claims it’s being investigated by “two prominent columnists.”
We’d say this is ridiculous, and that you should take it with a grain of salt. But Madden actually wrote about Sandusky for the Beaver County Times six months ago — long before the scandal blindsided everyone else this week.
Madden also claimed Sandusky was forced out of Penn State in 1999.
“I think you’ll find out that Jerry Sandusky was told he had to retire in exchange for a cover up.”
Sandusky retired at 55 in 1999, a year after Pennsylvania police investigated (but did not prosecute) him for alleged molesting a boy.
Again, label this under “RUMOR.” But Madden has been out in front of this story before, so stay tuned."

Re: College Football
My boy did bring up a good point RE: Sandusky. He "retired" at 55 and never got another job, after being seen as a great defensive coach who designed the coverages that stopped The U in the '82 Championship Game. No way he wasn't seen as a risk, even back then. Not another team would touch him with a ten foot pole.
With that deduction in place, it makes Paterno's actions in '02 look worse. I thought (based on the Grand Jury Transcript) that Paterno only thought it was "inappropriate behavior" with a minor in the shower and not full anal rape. Considering what it appears he should have known in '99, one would think he would understand the severity once brought to his attention in '02.
