The economy booms under Clinton. No credit.
The economy tanks under Obama. All the blame.
Makes Fucking sense to me.
(although the real blame goes to Bush)

Tell you what, if you can tell me how Clinton is going to put us all in a time machine and take us back to the Y2k/dot.com boom days, then I'll vote for him. Otherwise, he's not much different than the guy we have now -- except that the guy we have now doesn't have Newt Gingrich to save his ass from himself.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
The economy had already tanked, massively, before Obama was inaugurated. But that certainly wasn't the R's fault, even though they controlled the presidency for the previous 8 years, the senate for the previous 8 years, and the house for 6 of the previous 8 years. No, it was all the Dems' fault. It's ALWAYS the Dem's fault, no matter what.Jungle Rat wrote:The economy booms under Clinton. No credit.

Obama just took the bad situation that W handed him and proceeded to make it even worse.

ANALYSIS: Warren Buffett Would Pay As Little As 0.2 Percent Tax Rate Under Rick Perry’s Tax Plan
http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/1 ... tes-forms/
In fact, billionaire Warren Buffett, who has lamented the fact that he currently pays only 11 percent of his adjusted gross income in federal income taxes, would pay as little as 0.2 percent under Perry’s plan.

Romney currently leads in the first 4 primary/caucus states (IOWA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, SOUTH CAROLINA, FLORIDA) although only in the range of 25% or so for all except New Hampshire where he is in the 40th plus percentile

America still doesn’t know Mitt Romney is a Mormon
http://blog.chron.com/rickperry/2011/10 ... -a-mormon/
By the time they figure it out, he would have such a commanding lead, they'll have no choice but to vote for him or Obama

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
I disagree. The Dems' solution to the problem was to incur a mind-boggling amount of debt, which was spent mostly on saving union government jobs for a couple of years. In return for that giant bribe to a special interest and Dem benefactor, our children and grandchildren will be paying off China for the rest of their lives. I don't call that better.Owlman wrote:Actually, the situation is better, but not markedly so and not fast enough

What is it with you guys and thinkprogress.org?
The hilarious part is that you would all scoff if someone posted an analysis by Rush Limbaugh. Seriously, you are absolutely beside yourselves at FoxNews, yet you post shit from thinkprogress.org without a hint of shame or recognition of irony. Congratulations, you're as much a ditto-head as the most ardent Limbaugh lemming.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
And I'm absolutely lmao at the notion that things are somehow better now. See how low the bar is set for Obama. The same people who were citing every negative thing they could find to prove that Bush was an utter disaster are actually satisfied with the job Obama is doing -- even though Obama is essentially doing the same bad things Bush did, only more of it.
This is the problem with politics. Nobody wants to think for themselves. Too many people treat it like it's some kind of sporting event. They hate the other team and kid themselves that their team can do no wrong.
Meanwhile, the whole country's going to Hell.

They are better now. We were in a large recession before Obama came into office. We are not now. The economy is in slow but steady growth. Better.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Rush Limbaugh and FoxNews have been caught numerous times exaggerating or fudging the facts. Do you know anything at all about Thinkprogress or are just assuming because you don't like their result?
Hey, they may be the most liberal organization out there (or the most conservative). They may be an arm of Romney's election. They may be funded by the Koch brothers. All are possible.

UPDATE: Fox News senior vice president for news Michael Clemente has responded to the study which found that his network's viewers are more misinformed about American political issues than any other channel. In a statement to the New York Times' Brian Stelter, Clemente disparaged the University of Maryland, where the study was done.
"The latest Princeton Review ranked the University of Maryland among the top schools for having ‘Students Who Study The Least’ and being the ‘Best Party School’ – given these fine academic distinctions, we’ll regard the study with the same level of veracity it was ‘researched’ with," Clemente said.
"For the record, the Princeton Review says the University of Maryland ranks among the 'Best Northeastern Colleges," Stelter notes. "It was No. 19 on the Review’s list of 'Best Party Schools.'"
ORIGINAL POST: Fox News viewers are much more likely than others to believe false information about American politics, a new study concludes.
The study, conducted by the University of Maryland, judged how likely consumers of various news outlets and publications were to believe misinformation about a wide range of political issues. Overall, 90% of respondents said they felt they had heard false information being given to them during the 2010 election campaign. However, while consumers of just about every news outlet believed some information that was false, the study found that Fox News viewers, regardless of political information, were "significantly more likely" to believe that:
--Most economists estimate the stimulus caused job losses (12 points more likely)
--Most economists have estimated the health care law will worsen the deficit (31 points)
--The economy is getting worse (26 points)
--Most scientists do not agree that climate change is occurring (30 points)
--The stimulus legislation did not include any tax cuts (14 points)
--Their own income taxes have gone up (14 points)
--The auto bailout only occurred under Obama (13 points)
--When TARP came up for a vote most Republicans opposed it (12 points)
--And that it is not clear that Obama was born in the United States (31 points)
In addition, the study said, increased viewership of Fox News led to increased belief in these false stories.

I recall something like 18 straight months of economic growth during Dubya's administration. And people like you screamed bloody murder the whole time.Owlman wrote:They are better now. But you're quick to take any signal as a positive sign now that your guy is in office.
