Re: College Football
"I'm not a huge fan of indisputable evidence. You begin a gradual slow slope toward everything being inconclusive. They should have the ability to make the call with replay just like they would on the field."
Well hell, why even have any refs on the field in that case? Just let every play end with no call until the guys in the booth can review it from every angle and make the "best" call. No thanks. If a field ref makes an obvious as hell wrong call, overturn it. I agree with you that the term "indisputable" is somewhat troublesome (you can always find somebody who will dispute anything), but if the replay basically shows that a play could legitimately be called either way, go with the original call. That's just part of the game. Or else do like I somewhat facetiously said at the beginning and take the field refs out of it completely, don't let them make any calls at all and only have them out there to do cursory duty such as setting the ball up for the next play (but only after they've consulted the booth, of course, to get the EXACT right placement of the ball), etc...

We should be spending billions on important things like robot officials, IMO.

Re: College Football
I probably wouldn't object to something like they have in tennis, though, if you could somehow (and I don't see why you couldn't) put sensors all around the field that would be able to electronically and without error determine if a ball or foot broke the plane, either for a touchdown or out of bounds...

we get to see Carson lead the Raiders today during the Bengals bye week.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

If you have Arian Foster on your fantasy roster, today is a very, very good day.

Re: College Football
Ill give him some credit. He made some good throws and it looked like he and his receivers were not on the same page. 3 days of practice. Still, Mikey raped them.

Re: College Football
At least Palmer had an excuse being out for the first third of the year. What was Boller's excuse? Oh, yeah. That's right. He sucks (cue D'Gaul rant).

Re: College Football
How frustrating and disappointing are the Texans? When Buffalo beats KC on the road 41-7 on opening day, the NFL's taken by storm. People are abuzz. The Texans beat the Titans on the road by 41-7 and people are ho hum. Like, yeah, we know but what will they do to piss it away next week.
I guess, as BRM said earlier, I should suck it up and be more optimistic but damn... there have been a half-dozen games like this over the past couple of years that this team has managed to lose (the Raiders game from two weeks ago being the most recent example). I'm just flabbergasted how a team with this much talent can figure out a way to be mediocre so successfully.
Then again... considering all the injuuries that keeping mounting up (Danielle Manning is now out for several weeks if not for the rest of the season), maybe the gods really just don't like Bob McNair.

Re: College Football
You know, everyone keeps talking about Peyton Manning and his impact on the offense, but the bigger problem, as I see it, is the Colts defense. I mean, they're not good. Period. They were lambasted in like 20 minutes versus Houston (gave up 200 yards before all the Texans fans could get in their seats good), gave up a big lead, at home, in the second half, versus the Chiefs, gave up nearly 30 points at home to the Browns and are being run out of the building by NOLA. When you've got two top notch pass rushers in Freeney and Mathis, you shouldn't be this shitty on D. Good god.
I know, I know, a lot of Kerry Collins-orchestrated three and outs will put extra stress on defense but still...

Re: College Football
I was thinking that too - there must have been alot of 47-34 type games I don't remember the Colts playing with Peyton leading the team. Its hard to believe the Colts fell off this badly.
Boller was horrendous.

Re: College Football
Last season, the Colts won quite a few 28-25/31-28 type games.
