I'm proud of the way our team fought in the first-half. But the second-half played-out pretty much the way I thought it would. It's been the same all season. The teams we're playing are better and deeper and they make adjustments at halftime. We don't have the ability yet to play two halves. Even in the games we've won this season against lesser opponents, we've played down in the second-half. The anomaly is Cincy. We played them tough for 4 quarters and that is still their only loss this year. They have to be kicking themselves for losing that game when they see how we have performed against all of our other opponents.
Next is South Carolina, who survived a tough close game at Mississippi State. If we could play a full game like we did vs. Cincy, we would have a chance. If we do what we've done in every other game, all they have to do is hang around until after halftime and they'll be fine.
Looking further ahead, I am now thinking that it is most likely we'll finish 5-7. Vandy is looking more and more like a loss. Their defense is for real and they play for 4 quarters, unlike us. Middle and Kentucky are the only games left that we look like we could win, unless we make some big improvements.
I predict that LSU will beat Bama in what I'm sure will be as good a game as everyone expects.
Deep thought of the day: "I was adopted. I thank my birth mother every day for not aborting me (although I wouldn't doubt her decision if she did)."
