A baseball bat is "one piece of solid wood" and has been since 1870. That's 98 years before aluminum bats were ever produced. MLB has never prohibited aluminum bats, just like they havent prohibited titanium bats, gold bats, chromium bats, rubber bats, using a golf club, or a frying pan, or the barrel of a rifle, or any number of other things that aren't baseball bats and therefore have never been legal under the rules.

Youth leagues and the NCAA adopted facsimile bats that aren’t legal under the rules of baseball to "save money" wasted on replacing broken bats.

Yeah? So what? The NCAA didn't replace shoulder pads and knee pads that might break and tear with bubble wrap to "save money" with football. And so, unlike baseball, the sport is still a sport at that level.

aTm, if you will remember correctly, you got your panties in a twist because I denigrated NCAA baseball and said that the college "world series" was a joke, silly, because of PING! The aluminum bat ruined the sport of baseball at the college level. I regard college baseball with about as much respect as I do, girl's sports. And you got all pissy with me about that last year. Now you are gaslighting.

I am sure everything you said is true here. But that doesn't matter because my point from day one is still true. College baseball is NOT baseball because of PING! That makes a fantastic sport, flawed. It makes it a joke.
