Tell the 50,000 or so residents of New Hampshire who jam up route 3 or I-93 South every morning on their commute into Massachusetts, how good they have it with no state income tax, and they will be quick to remind you that they pay Massachusetts state income taxes.

was just reading about Governor Landry in Louisiana . He proposed 4 amendments in the state, the voters rejected all of them

he wanted to lower the max tax rate and with it limit state budget increases. I could see that going either way but they voted no. But then you read it also would have moved money from state savings to the general fund which is politicize for unchecked spending. So good for the voters. He even tried to briber teachers with a $2K bonus. This is a liberal position but I think its more about just voters being fed up with corrupt Louisiana politics.

another of his amendments want to put juvenile offender in prison with adults. No matter how bad crime is, I can't see voters backing that kind of headline. The voters disliked it so much that it actually motivated them to vote against his tax amendment I mentioned earlier.

The two other amendments were about allowing the state to pick judges without holding elections in specific circumstances - or some variation of that including the formation of courts that would hold jurisdiction over other parts of the state.

Whats really sad about this is it pitted two billionaires against each other which is where it seems our politics are going.

Those two are not new names to political purchasing power - one of the Koch brothers - whichever one isn't in hell, and Soros who should have died a long time ago and joined him.
