Texas was able to win eek out 8 SEC wins (including the tournament) to go 8-13 overall or whatever, but they didn't beat anybody out of conference. I thought they were in real trouble at the start of SEC season, because I just couldn't see them doing well at all in the SEC and they had few of the wins the rest of the conference put together. NC State and Syracuse were their best wins out of conference? Texas was an underdog last night. Basically the team that finished 4th in the Big East had to mount a comeback against the 13th place SEC team. Its not some kind of embarrassing loss for the conference.

The SEC has so many good teams that it is almost a given that regardless of results its going to be perceived as negative unless the conference truly dominates. I have 4 SEC teams in my elite 8 and when I posted the following "number of SEC teams I project to participate in each round" on texags, people acted like I was negative on the conference.

At this point, I will wait to see how it works out. They have been looking for the 20 year hire since Coach Knight and for reasons they won't acknowledge (alumni that is), the name IU does not carry any water anymore due to the shitshow it has been for the last decade. Period.

Man, I have to say the biggest surprise for me is the complete demise of the ACC. They have like 30 fucking schools and only send 4 to the tournament and one was widely derided (but is still playing) and 2 are gone. And football isn't much better. I guess soccer is pretty big in the ACC.
