Fortunately, the secret service located the shooter in advance. And they chased him and he got away. But a witness took pictures of his car and license plate so they found him on I-95.

Apparently, Routh would have gotten away with it had a witness not taken a picture of him running into his black Nissan. The witness even got a picture of Routh's stolen license plate. So, that was how they found him so many miles away. No other reason.

Routh took up his position just along the fence and tree line at the golf course, the 6th hole. That is one of the corners of the property line. And he took that position at 2AM, almost 12 hours before he was engaged. It was a perfect assassination position, as it offered him both cover and physical barricades. He could "hide" from pretty much everyone and if that failed (and it did) he could also easily "escape." So they found him and started shooting so he ran. They couldn't chase him because it appears he was on the other side of the fence. He got right to his parked car. This was perfectly planned.

What we all want to know is, how did he know Trump would be there? That question needs to be asked but given the charges, its unlikely that he will be asked. He lawyered up immediately and has not spoken to anyone. We may never know how he knew. But we NEED to know.
