He's a good player. Consistent role player type, smart and hustles, who could easily contribute on a WS team. But if he's our best, we got serious problems.

Yeah, they pulled him after 99 pitches. I could understand if they were way ahead, but it was 1-0 and you lucked out that was the final outcome. Earlier this year he was pitching a no hitter with the lead, they pulled him, and ended up losing the game. Pirates don't have a GM and manager, they have analytics specialists. The analytics trump trying to win the actual game.

Analytics tells you, based on your record and future schedule, you should not be buyers at the trade deadline even though you have the third best starting rotation in the league. Analytics tells you that you get more for your dollar by signing the $3 million free agent instead of the $5 million when it makes more sense to sign the $5 million if he's just a little bit better. Analytics tell you not to make a trade because it's a little lopsided, even when getting the guy really helps your lineup whether you give up too much prospects or not. Analytics tells you the two games before the all-star break should be bullpen games to prevent too many innings for starters for the year

I hate it. Just want to win games.
