By Rickart's logic, Neal Dahlen is a better QB than Tom Brady.

last nights draft went about as expected. doubtful any of the qb's this year do anything with the teams they have now. cam at #1 seems eerily similar to the talk when young went to tennesee or the oakland qb what's his name. running qb's just don't do well in this league I don't care how strong their arms are.

peyton got a good OT hopefully but we really need an entire OL overhaul--hopefullyt draft another one at #2 today.

looks like reggie bush might be on the way out along with his 8 mil since oreleans drafted ingram

lots of tears last night from those drafteed. they'll really be crying if this deal gets done this year anbd they find out how much they'll be losing compared to rookies past

C'mon, dave. You don't judge the best hitter by how many WS he's been in. You don't judge the best running back by SBs. Or wide receivers, or TEs, or linebackers, or kickers or any other position players for that matter.

But if that's all ya got...

and i definitely wouldn't compare the impact that a TE, LB or kicker have on the game.....to a QB's impact on the game.

It's simple: Manning > Brady. The numbers bear that out. Throw in the post-season stats for both -- it changes nothing.

Now, if you want to look at win totals and championships, then that's clearly more of a TEAM statistic. I concede that the Patriots have been a better team than the Colts during the Manning/Brady era.

It's just common sense. For instance, David Patten was a wide receiver who played on 3 Patriots Super Bowl winning teams. No one would say that David Patten was a better wide receiver than Marvin Harrison. But that's what Rickart's "logic" would lead you to believe.

Isn't that an argument that Manning had a better team?

You might actually be making a point if I had ever said that Manning was perfect. That's not the standard. Brady hasn't been perfect, either.

I can't simplify it any more than I already have. Golf is an example of an individual sport. Tennis and bowling are individual sports. Boxing is another one. Games like baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey, volleyball and FOOTBALL are TEAM sports. TEAMs win games and championships. That's why the trophies have the TEAM's name on them -- not any one individual player on the team.

And the best player doesn't always play for the best team.
