I wish fellow Tar Heel — and a devoted one at that — Marty Brennaman was still calling Reds games so that I could click over to listen to him call this stuff. The Reds are one hell of a surprise and a damn fun to watch.

I got invited to go to 2 Phish shows at MSG next month, I don't really like Phish but tickets and room are paid for, and also tickets to a Yankees game on Saturday. Couldn't say no to that...

Yeah, gotta say I'm looking forward to it. Going to Yankee Stadium (never been) probably more than the Phish shows, although it will be cool to be in MSG (twice) and Yankee Stadium in a 24 hour period. Honestly I'd love to go to a game in any big league stadium. Only ones I've ever been to are the Giants (in Candlestick), the A's (they're probably in a different stadium by now) and the Dodgers (ditto, maybe). I may be misremembering this, but I think the game in LA was against the Giants, last game of the season, winner goes to the playoffs, loser goes home. But I don't remember who won. That was at the height of my drug haze. Doesn't seem right that a non-baseball fan junkie should've gotten a ticket to that game, but somehow that's the way things usually go...
