Churches arent trying to make a profit, they would just spend more to ensure they break even and all of us would pay more for government paper pushers to waste a fuckload of time auditing and enforcing them to earn $0 more in tax

I understand Osteen's appeal. He preaches the easy path to heaven, a generous god that only wants what is best for you. Preachers pay income tax on their salaries, except they can exempt out of SS tax and have an exemption for housing costs, which, for him, is quite a tax break. I'm seeing alot of poor preachers retire without paying into SS and are now not able to get benefits because they exempted out of paying. Bad choice for poorer preachers, good choice for rich televangelists

He’s just another televangelist crook that exploits the poor and promises financial windfalls if folks donate to his church. He just talks slower, no speaking in tongues or making people pass out, and he has a softer smile.

The prosecutor asks a question and Murdaugh answers, then a follow up question where Murdaugh asks for clarification, then he (Murdaugh) rejects whatever narrative the prosecutor presents and gives a slightly altered variation of it, making it seem like he refutes what the prosecutor said and backs it up with factual information
