He was never going to be prosecuted for simply having classified documents. I mean, the Archives sent him letters for months (years) asking him to return them, if he had just complied, nobody would've ever even heard about it. Not saying it's not concerning that classified documents get misplaced, b/c it is, but I would guess there are literally millions of them floating around and obviously mistakes can be made. But to steadfastly refuse to return them, like a small child refusing to give up a toy, and then deliberately lying and sending letters saying they've all been returned when they really hadn't?
Clearly if the Archives were happy to handle it confidentially via letters, the simple having of the documents isn't the biggest issue. But flouting the request for their return (for years)? Just face it, Trump is a creep and a conscious criminal, Biden turned in the documents his guys found on his own accord, the Archives didn't even know they were missing. Obviously the Fox News crowd doesn't care about these differences, just like they didn't care that Trump had classified documents and refused to return them. Doesn't mean that Biden isn't a doddering octogenarian either, but the cases are not even close to the same...
