Very shortly, I’m going to begin posting a long thread of information on Twitter, at my account, @mtaibbi. This material is likely to get a lot of attention. I will absolutely understand if subscribers are angry that it is not appearing here on Substack first. I’d be angry, too.

The last 96 hours have been among the most chaotic of my life, involving multiple trips back and forth across the country, with a debate in Canada in between. There’s a long story I hope to be able to tell soon, but can’t, not quite yet anyway. What I can say is that in exchange for the opportunity to cover a unique and explosive story, I had to agree to certain conditions.

Those of you who’ve been here for years know how seriously I take my obligation to this site’s subscribers. On this one occasion, I’m going to have to simply ask you to trust me. As it happens, there may be a few more big surprises coming, and those will be here on Substack. And there will be room here to to discuss this, too, in time. In any case, thanks for your support and your patience, and please hold me to a promise to make all this up to you, and then some.

There will almost certainly be proof. We already know that the FBI warned Facebook about foreign interference and disinformation. The information released tonight confirms what anybody with a brain already knew, that the DNC and RNC engage in cyber warfare against each other, trying to get each other’s points of view banned like petty, whiny bitches running to Sysop Judy. And Judy, in the form of Twitter’s executives, of course ended up leaning toward one side over the other, leading to the suppression of a major election news story by a major newspaper. Tonight is just the final confirmation that this did indeed happen for all the people still with their hands covering their ears and eyes.

We’re likely going to get proof from Twitter that government agencies were involved in advising Twitter that the laptop story needed to be censored because it was “Russian Disinformation.” We already know that Facebook said they were warned. We’ve already seen the leaks to other left friendly news sources that “all these people in intelligence say they think it’s disinformation” which we know now was bullshit. I think if you believe that there is no likely no first amendment issue here, you’re just hoping and praying.

Twitter censored a NY Post story, suppressed it, and then also censored government officials at the instigation of government bureaucracy sympathetic to the other side and in cooperation with officials of one of the political parties in order to help an election campaign. Yesterday you would have said “conspiracy theory.” Today you will say “where’s the proof.” I wonder what you will say tomorrow?

The same thing I always ask conspiracy theorists: where is the proof? I don’t want supposition. I want actual proof.
