Re: Tennessee Volunteers
What this win means (even if it means nothing else)...
It means we don't have to listen to more talk about how far the Vols have fallen...at least not for a while.
It means that even if we lose to the Gators this week, we'll still be 2-1 -- a winning record. And if we somehow manage to win, we will likely be ranked the week after. And that is something that benefits us Vol fans living outside of Tennessee AND Dooley's recruiting efforts. More national exposure is a good thing.
It means that we didn't lose to a no-load team from fucking Ohio...AGAIN! DSL hasn't paid us a visit yet this weekend and that's always a good thing.

Deep thought of the day: "I was adopted. I thank my birth mother every day for not aborting me (although I wouldn't doubt her decision if she did)."

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Agree Cincy was a decent win, and we won by alot more than I expected.
But Cincy is still Cincy. The team is 1-30 against SEC competition their only win coming against Kentucky.
Bray and the team (offense at least) looked good yesterday but there will be much more pressure from the dline next week. The secondary won't be that easy to beat either.
So I think our passing game will be much less efficient, and if we can't run the ball we are in trouble. We haven't been able to run the ball against sub SEC calibre talent so I wonder if we can even get 50 yards rushing against an SEC team.
I do like this team and I like the direction Dooley has us going. We will be pretty good in a couple of years when we have the linemen to compete in the SEC.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
We all know there a things to be concerned. Yeah, neither of our lines are going to get us to the SEC title game.
However, we have improved over last year. We improved from one game to the next despite the competition being better than the previous one week's. We are getting there.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Leaving Wed. afternoon to get a little beach time in Destin, then we'll move over to Lake City early Sat. and drop the wives off at a relative's and then the guys will head to the Smamp.
Win or lose this Sat., I love having the excitement back and the confidence that Dooley is building in the program. And how great is it to have a coach with the nads to onside kick, fake punts, and continuously go on 4th down - even in our own territory? I admired that about Meyer...and admit to being a tad jealous about it, and wondered if we'd ever be graced with that style of all-in leadership. I'm satisfied that we are, and I'm fired up about our prospects this weekend.
But Cincy is still Cincy.
Two BCS bowls in the last 3 years.. an all conference QB and maybe an A-A RB...look for them to whip NCSt, win 8-9 games and compete for the BE title.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
My Saturday basically sucked. I'm building an extention on by deck and to make a long story short, my 3 yr old grand son fell through a section were I had removed some decking ( an area abot 10 inches by 2 feet) and fell to the concrete 12 feet below and was almost followed by my 2 year old granddaughter. I heard the commotion, ran up the stairs and saw her about to step out of the door (and into the hole) I yelled at her and looked through the hole and saw him laying face up and not moving. I thought he was dead. I can't describe the feeling. His dad ran over and picked him up, I know not a good idea, but...., then he started crying. We rushed him to the emergency room and they had him air flighted to Vanderbuilt Children's Hospital, who by the way saved my other granddaughter's life about 4 years ago.
His scull is fractured from just behind his ear to the back lower, center of his his head but he has no brain or spinal damage, or internal injuries. I spent a sleepless weekend in the Children's Hospital waiting room.
So, needless to say, any wins from here on out is just gravy. And losses? eh...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Fudge it!!!
Cincy more than stacks up against either of the Gaytors teams. We did great. Glossing over the stats, we compare very favorably. I would be so bold to predict a winner. Alas, our young team is opening up against a solid SEC team while playing on the road for the first time this season. In the Smamp of all places. This could be an interesting weekend.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Holy shit 10ac!! Sounds like it will all turn out alright but that sounds freaking bad. If the 2 yr old had fallen through and landed on him, then...
Best of luck. Will the little one be out soon or is he already and I just missed that part?
