They're a strong contender for that title. 2007 Minnesota and 1999 Iowa are the only competitors for it that immediately leap to mind, and IIRC, both of those teams at least managed to stay in games longer than this Minnesota team can.

Purdue has completely bottomed out as a program and is trying, as best they can, to crawl back towards bowl eligibility.
