CARES Act had ZERO to do with the 2008 financial crisis and rescuing banks. It was because of Covid.Tree wrote: ↑Thu Oct 13, 2022 10:17 am Yes I understand Tarp happened. Already talked about it. A few hundred billion is a drop in the bucket compared to what’s been needed to keep the broken system afloat since 2008. Look up the Cares Act not to mention the loan repo program that have transferred trillions from the 99% to the 1%. Some say the US is a business but that’s not quite right. It’s a legalized mafia. And both parties are all in.

More to the point, CARES Act money went to the people, not the 1%.
As far as the loan repo program goes, this was the most disparaging article I could find. Why couldn't YOU link it?

Once again, much of this had to do with Covid, not 2008.
You are all over the place trying to bundle a whole bunch of spending programs/problems and saying that they are all part of what happened with the mortgage crisis that almost took down capitalism in and of itself. You want to blame anyone for that needless Two trillion in federal spending on CARES Act? Blame the entity that will NEVER EVER have to answer for the ruin they brought the world. Blame China, not our government. Your anger here, you are yelling at no one other than China. This spending was a result of Covid, not the big banks loaning money to people that you and I know would never repay it.
