I think there may be an active shooter scene going on right now across the street. The dogs started barking and I looked out the window, I had not noticed 3 fire trucks, several police cars and a couple of EMS vehicles clustered at the corner where our house sits. I walked out into the front yard and all the way to the street, the EMS guy is rolling a stretcher towards the corner. Another EMS guy asks me to step back, I was like "I'm just trying to see what's going on, I'm not in the way," and he says "yes sir, but there's a reason why we've all got our vests on," at which point I noticed that all the police, firemen and EMS guys were wearing bulletproof vests. I just pointed at the EMS guy and said "Thank you" and walked back into the house...

Maybe somebody called 911 and said they were fixin to shoot themselves, I don't know, but it's not an active shooter situation, there's only like 3 cop cars there and the cops aren't wearing vests and now there are some neighbors milling about...

Evidently there was a burglar in the house across the street (not directly across, but a couple of houses down), burglar alarm went off, he claimed he had a gun, so Mexican standoff. I guess the guy knew there was no way out, they had the block surrounded and were just patiently waiting, so this asshole decides to set the house on fire. Beautiful old house, the lady took immaculate care of it (she was out of town, no idea if the guy knew that or just got lucky), completely burned down b/c the firemen couldn't move in b/c the guy claiming he had a gun was still somewhere. They sent a SWAT team in (at this point I'm standing behind a tree across the street from the house on fire), evidently this fooll was lying in the bushes b/w the houses, they drug his ass out, he's screaming and crying. Bunch of neighbors are hanging around, mostly women, all of them are loudly saying things to the effect of "just shoot that motherfucker now!" I got a bunch of pics and video, I offered to let Stu use them his rag's website, but it's going to cost him. I risked everything to get those pics and videos while he slumbered....
