But we have no true point guard on the roster and our wings are a disgrace. The ACC being down will give us a pathway to mediocrity, but that’s it. Our coaching “search” was a joke, exact same baton handoff that Dean orchestrated was carried out by Roy.

We'll probably be OK this year, but I'm not a fan of this "hang around the 3 point line and fire one off right before the shot clock expires" style of play. Reminds me too much of Dook, who you could always (almost always) count on to choke come tourny time, and plenty of times in the early rounds. But I guess that's what much of college hoops has become now...

I thought Davis was adequate PG and as a young guy will get better. Biggest weakness I saw was post defense. Bacot is serviceable but when he's in foul trouble or over talking to the cheerleaders, a muppet could back you guys down for an easy score. Will need better rim protection for the NCAAs.

Agreed, Tree. Our defense is an abomination. Add in —as Hedge mentioned — our “modern offense” and we look like k*rzyt. But I won’t put all the defensive woes on the lack of rim protection (outside of Bacot). Our guards and wings are like a sieve straight to the basket.

We need some elite talent in Chapel Hill. Our four McDonald’s All-Americans are of the variety which the NBA has zero interest. That’s got to change or eCat was semi-correct — it won’t turn into the Calipari revolving door of underachievement in recent seasons — it’ll devolve into Carolina’s version of Tubbyball.

The wings seemed good albeit a bit undisciplined to me. They can all shoot tho which is a plus. I guess it depends what you mean by underachievement. They do still seem like a top 25 team regardless. And fuck the NBA. I assume that Manek fella is one of the AAs. You don’t have to play a game in the NBA to be great in college.
