What makes them assholes? What just because SHE says he is an asshole?

Lets say the wife spends all the money and is running the family into bankruptcy. Lets say they get into counselling and the counsellor tells her that she has to surrender all control of the spending over to her husband and she says "no." Okay, counselling over, she didn't get the answer she wanted (which was, well my husband just needs to go make more money for me.) So (one day) in an effort to save his marriage and family from ruin, her husband closes all the bank accounts, cancels all the credit cards (including the ones in her purse that she spent $300 to buy), and has all the bills transferred to the bank where he set up his paychecks. He tells her that now he will be paying the bills and she no longer has access to his paycheck. And he gives her a $100 allowance each week (a fraction of what she used to have.)

Does that make him an asshole?

Because that is exactly what she is likely to say when she goes and pays DookSucks a visit. And DS will take this guy through the meat grinder. Because (after all) she said he was an asshole.

Hedge, how long have you been on this earth? If you are over the age of 35 you should already know sometimes even a good woman goes FERAL. She goes feral because she sees what other women are getting in life and she wants what they have and she doesn't want to be accountable. And because she is married, she feels she has earned the right to live an unaccountable life. Now, centuries ago, the "ancients" knew this about women. They knew it. That is why they created patriarchal marriage. The wife is the property of the husband. That is why the father gives away the daughter to the son-in-law. Its about transfer of ownership.
