Re: College Football
I don't know how you'd rate WS. We all have strong biases toward the ones our teams participated.
Of course, I will say the 1960 World Series. The Yankees were a juggernaut in the 50s and early 60s, in 1960 they scored the most runs in a WS ever, outscored the Pirates 55-27, but lost it on a home run in the bottom of the ninth (only one of two WS walk off home runs). My dad had a choice to go to game 6 or 7. He chose game 6 because there may not have been a game 7. The Pirates lost that game 12-0.

That's why I didn't put 75 on top. Bias. I would have chosen the 90 sweep against the mighty A's. The Bash Brothers were supposed to come in here and kick the Reds ass all over town.
Plus. I covered the Reds back then so I was there every day. Wire to wire.

MLB Network did a retrospective/documentary on that '90 team a while back. It was pretty good.Jungle Rat wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 8:28 am That's why I didn't put 75 on top. Bias. Re: College Football
Ha. He was. He was far from perfect and could be a cruel tyrant at times when I was a kid, but he apologized for that and we got beyond that. I would give just about anything other than my wife and daughter to have him back and healthy, but if he had to live like he did at the end, I'm glad he is not here and suffering.

I wasn’t always the most cooperative or well behaved son...so, there’s some truth to that too. Ha

Re: College Football
The 1990 Reds team was also excellent. But they swept the As the way the Red Sox swept the Cardinals in 2004. So not a good World Series.Jungle Rat wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 8:28 am That's why I didn't put 75 on top. Bias. I would have chosen the 90 sweep against the mighty A's. I think in order for the World Series to be the best World Series, it MUST go 7 games and it must have lots of huge emotional swings (back and forth.) In that sense 1975 qualifies as does the 1960 World Series. I am not talking the best teams, just the best series.

Re: College Football
We've kinda watched DS grow up in here. I remember when he first showed up as a UNC undergrad, he hit the ground running. And then law school, marriage, kid. Brings a tear to my eye. aTm too, I still think of him as being in his early 20's and watching anime porn. That brings a tear to my eye, too...
I want someone's ass blistered in the middle of Thanksgiving Square.
