Re: Ostensibly Hoops
CPAs and lawyers make money on billable hours so we’re task oriented to begin with. We lost no efficiency by working remote. Some of our older partners still don’t realize the impact of this. They are still trying to get the folks back in the office. Problem is, most of the young group don’t t want to go back to the office. Had a manager come to my office a few days back saying they are leaving and joining a NYC firm. I said are you moving to NYC? She said, no, it will be 100% remote even after Covid and I’m making NYC salary.
There is a rude awakening for some firm partners as to the effect of all this. Also a bad sign for NYC entertainment venues.

I do a fair amount of contingency and flat or tiered rate billing, but the task oriented nature of being an attorney still makes it easy to work remotely. Plus, with modern firm management programs, it's easy to track if someone is working.sardis wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 5:52 pm CPAs and lawyers make money on billable hours so we’re task oriented to begin with. My cousin's wife has a PhD in Psychology and has worked for BB&T/Truist for 3 years. She was just hired by Facebook. They're paying her the California salary and allowing her to live in NC. She will probably spend a total of 12-16 weeks per year in California, but Facebook will be paying for that.
I proudly took AFAM 040 at Carolina.

$7.75m walking away money, damn
------------------
The Gregg Marshall era at Wichita State is over. This morning, Wichita State announced that Marshall has resigned, effective immediately. Even though Marshall was under investigation for alleged misconduct, Wichita State agreed to pay him a $7.75 million settlement over the next six years. Assistant Coach Isaac Brown will serve as the team’s interim head coach.
“This was a difficult decision, but one I feel was necessary for my family, the university and, most importantly, the student-athletes,” Marshall said. “I remain grateful for my years spent at Wichita State. I wish to thank the coaches, student-athletes, the university, the community, and all of Shocker Nation for their unending dedication, support and loyalty. I am incredibly proud of this men’s basketball program and all it has achieved over the past 14 years and am confident of its continued success.”
Over the last month, multiple players have come forward with claims of physical and verbal abuse and racist behavior by Marshall, including Shaq Morris, who said Marshall punched him twice during a 2015 practice, once just hours after Morris informed him his mother is battling cancer. The Athletic first broke the news that Wichita State was investigating the claims, and Jeff Goodman released his own detailed report, which was compiled over six months and includes interviews with 36 former and current members of the Shockers basketball program. In his response, Marshall didn’t even deny the reported incidents took place, instead admitting his coaching style “isn’t for everyone.”

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

They bring in business, and that makes me money. Money that pays for my golf, my tickets to Reds and Kentucky games, and spending the winter in Florida. You're just going to have to deal with them.Jungle Rat wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 10:18 amSo all these damn Medicare commercials that replaced all the campaign adds is YOUR fault

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
So, the Hornets drafted a Kentucky player named Nick Richards in the second round. I'd ask Kentucky fans on here about him, but I don't think they follow basketball anymore.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
He was a project for 2 years, came on strong last year. Not as accomplished as Willy Cauley Stein, I don't see him ever being a starter. Questions about his motor. He was notorious for taking plays off and disappearing until mid season last year, then he flipped a switch

at one point early last year, UK fans were questioning if he even wanted to play basketball or not
