in other news, Greg Marshall of Wichita St is doing his best Bobby Knight impersonation. He is currently under investigation for charges of bad conduct including punching a student, chasing one down in his car and oh, yea, losing a good chunk of his team to transfer.

He broke out the "do you know who the fuck I am" line when talking to a student who parked in his space.

The students response was appropriate when addressing the coach of Wichita St... "I don't give a fuck who you are"

Literally LMAO at the thought of this, esp. the one second process in which the light went off in eCat's head b/w the time he saw the scissor lift and decided "oh hell yeah," to say nothing of the actual image of eCat, Quint-like, actually commandeering the thing around his yard. I can also imagine him later that night, again Quint-like, sitting at the kitchen table and regaling his wife and the boy with tales of life on the open seas (or in this case, his yard), the things he saw out there, the mysteries and power of the yard...

reading about the Wichita St coach and he is accused of making racist remarks

so I'm like oh man, he must have said some horrible shit and then I read he told a Columbian guy that missed a ball in practice that he couldn't be a good coffee bean picker, and he told a Native American that he should get back on his horse.

Now, I get it, it todays super sensitive world that is racist but Jesus Christ, a man shouldn't lose his job over that. If that is the kind of shit they are saying about you, then they are looking for reasons to fire him.

now he did punch a player and choke an assistant (what is it about coaches and choking? I mean, who chokes anyone but serial killers?) and losing his job should definitely be on the table over that but his racially insensitive remarks are pretty lame. Its like telling the white kid he can't jump or ever win a dance contest. This country is weird, wanting to strongly identify with their cultural heritage while at the same time, not allowing anyone to point out their cultural heritage. We'd readily accept "comes from a country of proud coffee bean growers" but not "you can't catch a basketball, you'd never be able to pick coffee beans". I clearly understand that one is derogatory and the other is a complement but it just seems too sensitive to say he crossed a line, and even if he did cross a line, is that what you really want to hang your hat on for getting a man fired?

that's pretty cool and impressive. This would have to be second to most impressive space thing. Seeing those 2 rocket boosters return to earth and land after years of us watching them dump into the ocean is the most impressive to me.
