"I'd like to protest BLM or attend a Trump rally without being called a racist, but I'm not afforded that."

I'd say it's pretty clear that you resent it though. And I think that resentment colors a lot of your political opinions...

"When you protest and a riot breaks out, then guess what, you're not a protester, you're a rioter."

That's just too absurd to even respond to...

well the important thing is all the white drivers pushed Bubba's car in a symbolic parade of white guilt.

Smollett was just a few months too early.

Are you saying that if a fight broke out at the stupid Occupy Wall Street gathering that I just happened to be in New York while it was happening, so I decided to stand on a wall and hang a flag over my should that someone handed me and watch the going's-on, that I'd be just as guilty of assault and battery as the person who started the fight?? And further, that everybody else there who was dancing around or playing drums or saxophone or whatever else they might be doing (except fighting or anything else illegal) would also be equally guilty? Again, that's just too absurd to even respond to (even though I just did)...

No

What I am saying is if you go to a protest not caring if a riot is going to break out then you are guilty of being a catalyst for the riot. And you are no longer a protester, you are a rioter

And I think there are a bunch of people who didn’t care if target got looted while they were holding their no justice no peace sign

How is it that a Biden/Obama rally can garner over 175,000 people yet Trump can barely get 6200 into a 19k arena?

eCat wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 2:14 pm Lets also keep in mind that Obama was a single term Senator from corrupt Chicago who was running as a dove against Hillary the Hawk in a time when Americans wanted out of Afghanistan and Iraq. The country was in financial ruin due to the housing bubble and people were in serious financial difficulty. He was the first and maybe only voice to talk about getting out of wars - and it played well with America seeing Americans die from IEDs and we kill one Al-Qaeda and a more vicious guy pops up to replace him. Water boarding, Gitmo, the Patriot Act - Obama was touching the nerve of Americans who were concerned we were becoming as bad as the people we were fighting

There was no way the country was going to elect the party of the incumbent. So a guy with a Muslim sounding name got elected over a white wasp war hero where under normal circumstances Obama wouldn't have made it out of the primaries.

But he was well spoken, calm and offered a message of hope when America couldn't stomach more of the same from McCain or Hillary. Then he trashed middle America's health care and talked about elections having consequences. Trayvon Martin, Ferguson and the emergence of BLM were the most easily visible division points, but you guys have heard me ranting about Obama ruining my health care since it started. I was not alone by a long shot. The division with Obama didn't start or end with race but clearly race played a role.

E. You are so far out there it's comical. I know you won't respond because you hate me but you are so fucking wrong. Unlike you who sits at home and conjures up your opinion by watching media, I, was and still is there. Walking. Protesting. In not one of the many protests I have been involved in has there been any violence. What you are doing is combining protestors with looters. It in no way is that. Absolutely not. You are so misguided.

I was talking with my friend Kenny this past Fathers day. He's a black man. Well accomplished in his field. I asked him if I was doing the right thing. He knows my daughters. Their passion. My kids are his kids vice versa. He told me this. "I love you and your girls. You are amazing. You do what you believe. I'll love you no matter what."

Back to more regularly scheduled programming in here. But hey, maybe he was just at a protest and somebody else did it, but just by the mere fact of him being there, he is equally guilty:

Adult film star Ron Jeremy charged with rape, sexual assault

I remember a report from a woman who claimed Jeremy just walked up to her, slid his hand under her dress and digitally penetrated her as casually as a guy shaking someone's hand.

I'd say he's lost perspective a bit. Just a few weeks ago he was being praised on social media for trying to save a tree.

and I never said equally guilty.

If you know a guy is going to rob a bank, do you have an obligation to report it? If you know a guy asking for a ride is going to steal a car when you drop him off, do you still give him the ride? if you block an intersection with a protest and stop 50 cars, and the 51st car is an ambulance with a guy having a heart attack, are you responsible for his delay to the hospital? so if you know that a protest will attract people that will burn and loot, and there is no debate there is precedent in that happening - and you choose to protest anyway, do you share in the responsibility?

I say yes. You're not an innocent spectator if you knowingly contribute to the problem.

You want me to believe that the guy holding the sign 100 feet from the target being burned down has no responsibility in it burning.
But had no one showed up to protest, the building would not be on fire. To me there aren't many degrees of separation from the guy lighting the match and the guy cheering him on.

I'd say the same of rape too, wouldn't you?

So basically the first amendment is null and void b/c people who choose to exercise their first amendment rights to peaceably assemble and address their grievances (I think I got that right) might attract some criminals who will commit crimes and therefor it's the people exercising their first amendment rights' fault?? Heh, if I tried to use that kind of torturous logic regarding gun crimes to invalidate the 2nd amendment you'd howl like a scalded dog...

once the rioting/looting starts its no longer peaceable.

that seems to be the part you can't comprehend.

you can't differentiate between your part of the protest being peaceable and the guy standing next to you throwing a piece of the curb at police

its all the same protest well except now its a riot

this idea that police should only focus on the rock throwers just isn't practical when the rock thrower and the peaceful guy started out the same, and especially since the rock throwing has started the "peaceful" guy has no intention of leaving the scene.

you mean one guys robs a gas station with a gun and the other guy holding a gun next to him is innocent?
