Little cutesy graphs that divide this by 1000 and raise the sum of that to the power of pi times 5 aside, BLM are mostly protesting blacks being beat down and killed in inner cities, which is basically an epidemic that no one but them talk about.

they just aren't protesting them doing it to each other, which is the epidemic, but you won't hear any of them bring up why there is such a high police presence in those inner cities or what those "cutesy" graphs relate to what causes the most deaths..by far... among young black males.

The most effective way to rid themselves of police brutality is rid themselves of the need for a higher police presence.

That is a serious problem too of course but when it's state power that's committing heinous crimes of serious violence/murder/oppression/etc, everything else takes a back burner. It's an existential problem and it's up to all of us to make sure those responsible are brought to justice.

Right now, every police officer should stop patrolling black neighborhoods. They are in a no win situation at the moment.

Instead of defunding the police, depolice the African Americans - give them what they want, without changing policy in the areas where police do patrol.

well, he is the kind of man that wrestles cops ,steals their taser and shoots it at them...that's what kind of man he is. I'm sure he had a lot of great qualities, but he had one very serious flaw - at least in that moment.

I think one thing is, from what I understand, they talked to this guy for like half an hour, they had already run his license, they knew who he was, where he lived, the whole nine yards. Evidently he was sleeping in his car when they came up on him, followed by everything I just mentioned. First of all, why do you have to cuff this guy and take him in, esp. in the current environment? Even if he ran away, what's the big deal? They know who he is and where he lived. What had he done wrong? Why does everything have to be a physical confrontation? It was just bad policing, it didn't have to escalate like it did. Not saying the guy was right for grabbing the taser, but nobody is going to get killed by a taser. Just doesn't seem to be any reason they had to shoot the guy in the back...

I can't speak to what led up to the cuffing - I can concede that might be bad policing

grabbing a weapon from a cop and using it against him? you're going to get shot - front/back/side, from across a parking lot - you're going to get shot.

That isn't racial. It just isn't allowed by anyone. Maybe an 11 year old kid could get away with it, but no adult.

I guess it would be too much to ask to at least shoot them in the leg or something. Seems like if you're damned and determined to shoot somebody, you still don't have to shoot to kill, just from a self-preservation standpoint, i.e., avoiding a potential murder charge. Not saying it's OK to shoot people in the leg, but damn, at least they'd still be alive...
