Horrible, horrible game to cap off a horrible Final Four. It's too bad because it was an exciting tournament up until Saturday, but it entirely fell to pieces with some brutal basketball, and the ultimate reward went to a coach nailed for cheating just a couple of months ago. Talk about anticlimactic.

Not sure you can pin it all on the mid-majors in light of Saturday's games. VCU/Butler was at least mildly watchable while UConn/Kentucky was horrific. Butler/VCU wasn't anything special, but it was by far the best game of the three. Kentucky/UConn was godawful, and yet last night made it look like a masterpiece. UConn/Butler was by far the worst championship game I've ever seen, and only MSU/Wisconsin from 2000 rivals it in the category of worst Final Four game I've ever seen.

Yuck. Even World Crossing couldn't tolerate that abortion of a basketball game.

Shelby Foote went to Carolina during the 30's because Walker Percy attended Carolina. He never graduated from Carolina, but he was involved with the alumni association with tours and speeches.

I keep thinking back to Andrew Smith clanking layup after layup off the rim, and I want the memory of that game forever stricken from my brain. That Wisconsin-SW MO State game from like 1999 or whatever was a veritable barnburner compared to that nonsense.

Agreed, Smith repeatedly missing open layups was the most prominent and egregious evidence of Butler's ineptitude. He looked like he had money on UConn.

How many times did Smith get the ball like under the basket and chuck up a wild shot at the wrong side of the rim? I mean, seriously, the guy's a 7-footer, isn't he?

And I used to like Matt Howard, but now realize he's just really annoying. I think if he had another season of eligibility, many of you would come to draw the same conclusion.

Harrow has supposedly been telling people he wants to lead the dribble drive.

Do you think UK would have any interest in Harrow? I mean, he's a good kid and a decent player, but I just cannot imagine him competing on the same level as Wall, Knight, Teague, etc. If he ends up at Kentucky, he'd be a role player.

yea I figured it was something like that but I can never find the "first unread post". I only see "mark as read"

Considering he'd sit out a year and be in the 2012 class, then yea, I think UK would love to have him should he show any interest. Right now 2012 is shaping up to be a year where we are lean from a mass exodus. It might be an easy sell to get Harrow.

Horrific final, obviously. I think it's appropriate. I think that's the worst Final Four I've ever seen. I think UConn is easily the worst champion I've ever seen.

Tournament, though, was entertaining as per usual.

ok it took me 3 hours but the genius that I am figured it out.

You have to go into the thread before you see first unread post.

I'm sure Dave and ATM said that already but I just couldn't get past those links on the home page.

eh-hem. yeah, that was a real barf-fest. Horrible game. Non-entertaing. Non-competitive. A dirty coach, hated program. Had all the bad ingredients.

The best games of the tourney were last week and the week before.
