then realizes he made a mistake for calling them out, says he wasn't wrong for backing his former player, then blames it on the grief he is suffering from Kobe's death.

and ESPN and Duke line up for praise him for it.

Terrible news about Kobe, I flew down to Costa Rica 19 years ago right around this time of year, before total global cell phone coverage, when we got back we learned that Dale Earnhardt had died at Daytona, and now this. Sad news...

Stackhouse is having a rough start. I didn't think he was qualified at first glance but after seeing his resume I think he is a good choice for Vandy.

I hope they give him time to turn it around. I've never heard anything bad about him (or Vince Carter). I like the guy.

Kobe was well loved but there is no denying that he settled a civil suit with a woman in 2003 that accused him of rape and was charged with one count of felony sexual assault that was dropped after she declined to testify.

so I don't agree with the Washington Posts decision here

Kobe was a sports icon and will be sorely missed. Almost as good as MJ. A tiny bit more explosive on the drive (talking about mm's here), same killer instinct and need to win. MJ had a little more guile tho (that's what being around Bird and Magic does for a young chap) and that's why he's still the best.

It's not just the SEC, but the entire nation. Collegiate officiating is a joke. Has been for quite some time. Can't enjoy a game without seeing 50+ ft's every game. Need to eliminate the double bonus and 1 and 1. Make every non shooting foul after 10 fouls 1 shot. Enough of this crappy hand checking foul. As long as they're not holding or impeding progress toward the basket, don't call it.
