President Trump is preparing to divert an additional $7.2 billion in Pentagon funding for border wall construction this year, five times what Congress authorized him to spend on the project in the 2020 budget, according to internal planning figures obtained by The Washington Post.

The Pentagon funds would be extracted, for the second year in a row, from military construction projects and counternarcotics funding. According to the plans, the funding would give the government enough money to complete approximately 885 miles of new fencing by spring 2022, far more than the 509 miles the administration has slated for the U.S. border with Mexico.

The move would bring the total amount of federal funds allocated to border fencing to $18.4 billion under Trump, who made the border barrier a priority during his campaign for the presidency in 2016. He also pledged to make Mexico pay for the barrier, delighting crowds at his rallies.

Correct. Neither Bernie nor Feauxcahontas will be able to leave DC and campaign in Iowa. Heh heh. Moreover, Senators can't go anywhere after Iowa either so long as the Senate is going through the motions of impeaching Trump.

The Senate could take the next year calling witnesses. Start with Eric Ciaramella (the "whistleblower'), Adam Schiff, (who colluded with Ciaramella), Joe and Hunter Biden (as expert witnesses on the specific techniques of threatening a foreign government for personal gain), etc etc, etc. And following the exact same kangaroo court rules the House Democrats followed in the impeachment hearings, the Senate Republicans would not allow any anti-Trump witnesses to testify.

This could go on until election day 2020.

People forget that most of these GOP guys hated Trump before he won the election - even Lindsay Graham who appears to be one of his biggest supporters was dogging Trump. These guys only support Trump when they felt he was a fixture in the presidency, now that they have some footing to move on, I don't think they will hesitate to turn on him

and I believe that will be a huge mistake. Trump can fill up a stadium with supporters in every swing state , hell, every state actually. Those people aren't going to go quietly in the night if he gets railroaded over some Ukraine funding bullshit.

The government already had a workaround to most of these issues according to multiple reports/claims.
