This just in:
BREAKING STORY
The Tanks in DC for Independence Day Are Russian! Trump Takeover Planned!
(MSNBC) Shock waves were felt across America today as unnamed sources from the DOJ, FBI, and CIA disclosed a highly classified bombshell: the tanks that President Trump demanded be part of the 4th of July celebrations in Washington are actually Russian tanks manned by Russian crews.
Instead of the standard US M-1 Abrams main battle tanks, the sources who wish to remain anonymous are saying the tanks on the Mall are actually Russian T-14 Armata tanks. Reporters from both MSNBC and CNN approached the tanks and attempted to engage the tank crews in casual conversation, but the crews appeared unable to speak English.
The situation became ominous when a Russian-speaking reporter from the New York Times overheard the tank commanders discussing their “assignments for tomorrow.” The reporter, who asked not to be identified, stated he heard phrases like, “capture the US Capitol and arrest Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Shumer.” The reporter also heard talk of “seizing the Supreme Court building” and “taking Justice Ginsberg in for interrogation.”
These reports have not been verified but they are so frightening that they must be true. CNN and MSNBC recommend that citizens panic, and run around the streets while screaming. MSNBC will continue to report this news as it develops or until we are arrested. Good night, and good luck.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
I am not sure what economy you are describing. But here are the newly released figures on the US economy, which hardly resembles your description. From CNBC, not Fox:Tree wrote:We need a party that doesn't want to spend ever increasing amounts of dollars on warmongering while millions of Americans get shit on by an anemic jimmy (or is it jerry?) rigged economy that has an ever decreasing pool of good jobs for folks who just want to work hard and make a decent living.
The Dems are going to have a hard time convincing voters that they are actually living in an economic hellhole, not the booming one they are perceiving with their own eyes and ears every day, and from which they need to be rescued by socialism.Strong job growth is back: Payrolls jump in June well above expectations

I don't need the Dems to convince me of that. I am reminded every time I buy something and see how much it costs. You can't even eat a combo meal at McDonald's for less than $7 now.
But, hey, man, as long as you're making it and not paying through the nose for everything, especially health care, we're all good, right?

It is a refreshing change to hear a Democrat express any sort of positivity towards the working class. Democrats usually express hostility towards the Deplorables. At least a decade of that is precisely why the Deplorables are now Trump's base.
But this sudden fondness for the working class has brightened my day. Thank you.

I'm sure the increase in minimum wage has much to do with that. But hey, let's blame Trump.Saint wrote:I don't need the Dems to convince me of that. I am reminded every time I buy something and see how much it costs. You can't even eat a combo meal at McDonald's for less than $7 now.
This from ProCon.org......
Raising the minimum wage would increase the price of consumer goods. A 2013 article by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago stated that if the minimum wage is increased, fast-food restaurants would pass on almost 100% of their increased labor costs on to consumers and that other firms may do the same. [2] A 2015 Purdue University study found that raising the wage of fast food restaurant employees to $15 or $22 per hour would result in a price increase of 4.3% and 25% respectively, or a reduction in product size between 12% and 70%: "a hamburger would be much smaller," the researchers stated. [53] NBC News found that the price of a cup of coffee went up by 10 to 20% in Oakland, California, after a 36% minimum wage hike in the city to $12.25. The report also found a 6.7% rise in coffee prices in Chicago after the minimum wage rose to $10. [54] The Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association (Canada) found that a "sudden and significant increase to the minimum wage" would result in "ncreased prices for food & beverage, guest rooms and meeting facilities."

Re: Florida State Seminoles
they always say that about minimum wage - that the costs will be passed to consumers
but that is assuming 2 things
1. the consumer will agree to pay the price, which if its marginal they will but noticeable they won't. Which is why now we have all these 4 for $4 combos deals - because they figured out that people weren't going to keep paying $8 to eat a burger, fries and drink
2. that no one will figure out how to sell a $5 burger combo while paying employees $15 an hour - but someone will, someone always figures it out. Probably an investment in a $22K automated burger
Creator makes a $6 artisanal burger with better ingredients, better process, 1/4 of the space and up to 400 burgers an hour

Re: Florida State Seminoles
If McDonald's figured "hey, we're good with making $2 billion a year in profit instead of $5 billion a year" they could charge half of what they're charging now. But they're not good with making $2 billion a year instead of $5 billion a year. And that's the same with every other multi-trillion dollar corporation. It's called greed, and it's universal, right down to the poorest peon. That's life...

If a mime/clown on TV representing a vampiric immortal conglomerate doesn't scare the living shit out of you then I don't know what would. Except for maybe an old world king representing the same thing. Burger/crucifixion anyone?

The thing is, blacks can vote, most Mexicans can’t...at least in SC and Iowa.

Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.
