Anything less than a championship achieved by winning every tourny game by double digits was going to be underachieving for Duke this year, and you barely made it to the Sweet 16 and then you barely made it to the Elite 8 and then you didn't even make it to the FF. No title, not even an appearance in the title game (which would've still been an underachievement had you lost, but no need to worry about that b/c you didn't make it to the title game), not ever a FF appearance. I actually don't think UK has underachieved under Cal. Yeah, I'm going to give UK fans shit b/c I know that all you care about is titles, but in reality I feel like making the FF is a major achievement. UK went to 4 FF's in 5 years, got to the title game twice and won it all once (and just as a side note, made 3 other Elite 8's, which almost any other program would be ecstatic with just that). That's not underachieving by anybody's standards, except maybe to UK fans', but you guys don't live in reality...

I never said that, I didn't hear Duke fans saying that, I didn't hear "talking heads" on ESPN or sports radio saying that. You could say this team was over-exposed in the media relative to its talent and obvious deficiencies (FT shooting and lack of a consistent 3-point threat being two), but I'd wipe my ass with any shitty made-up "anything less than an NCAA title" narrative from a Tar Hole fan looking for something to feel better about. (1) Purdue takes 7 seconds to get the ball in, (2) Edwards catches with right foot on baseline, and (3) our guy doesn't touch him on his missed 3pt shot, but he kicks his right leg out and gets the call. Yeah, that's why I said it's fun to sass UK fans about "underachieving" b/c you don't live in reality. In the 60+ years since Rupp's last title, UK has won exactly 4 NC's. Now, that's a lot more than most programs, but the reality is UK is averaging 1 NC every 15 years in that time, but they act like they should be winning it every year. I guess it's nice to have the attitude that you should win it every year, but it's just not reality, even based on your own program's standards. Not even close...
