There's no doubt media coverage of mass shootings and hate crimes incites more of the same. So many of the perpetrators desire the notoriety - how else would they get it without the nightly news.

But then you have the KY black church that started locking their doors during services after the Pittsburg synagogue massacre. Guy walks up with a gun, bangs on the doors, can't get into the service...frustrated, he drives to a nearby Kroger. Kills the first black people he sees - the infamous "whites don't shoot whites" guy.

I'm not worried about a race war, but I do pay attention to exits in public places. Sit where there's good sightlines, park in lit areas. The news being what it is and all...
