If you let Willis hit in the top of the 7th, why do you not let him take the mound in the bottom of the 7th?

From what I'm hearing, Votto for Bautista plus a pitcher from Dayton was a done deal until Bob nixed it.

Why the blue hell would they trade Votto?

Because they won't be able to sign him after his deal is up, they'd control Bautista longer and they fix the left field clusterfuck. Also opens up a spot for Alonzo. Made sense to me but I'm glad they didn't do it.

Is alozo doing a terrible job in the OF? I don't see the problem there.

Tony Campana doesn't either...

They have to do make it happen. If the Reds are ever going to be serious contenders every year, they are going to have to bite the bullet and spend money. There is no reason in this division among the teams, they can't have the highest payroll of those teams. Winning cures everything. Well, winning consistently cures everything. With the Bengals being the turd fest that it is, the Reds need to do what they can to get the fans of Cincy sports money into to their pockets and out of the Bengals. You do that by keeping your superstar player and building around him.

If they decide not to do any of these, then welcome to being in the playoffs every 5-7 years when things just fall right for them, players have career years, and the Turds sucking ass for whatever reason.

I hear you but I think this Ownership has done a tremendous job. Teams like the Reds need to use their farm system as their major source for players. They've done a good job of that it recent years. Trade Votto to fix major needs, Alonzo is ready.

Why not trade Alonzo then? Votto is a proven asset and well worth the money. Alonzo should be able to get something to fix those needs or at least I would hope so.

I think he is a good player and right now a bat without a position but just thinking long term stability, you gotta build and mold around something and Votto along with Cueto are the two to build around and do whatever you can to win.

Zambrano had a huge meltdown last night when the Braves rocked him:
