UK is in a strange place

We aren't going to get a better coach than we have, but the coach we have isn't good enough

we have this thing at work where if you argue with someone during a meeting, if you call it "introducing creative tension", apparently its a get out jail card that entitles you to be an asshole.

I've seen this happen twice now in the last month

it works like this

"I'm going to introduce some creative tension, that was the dumbest fucking idea I've ever heard, why they haven't fired you yet I don't know"

it still hurts when they say it to you though

Exactly..... It's not often that I agree with Rat but he's correct on this one...Would love to have Pearl at UK. The guy is a great bench coach.. unlike Calipari.. and gets the most out of his squad. At the moment , Cals system is no better than an elite 8, which is a good year but its not unique to coaching at UK.

He's lost a step on recruiting - whether that's due to payoffs or whatever, he's not going to get to a title game if he can't develop a veteran starter or bench.

If he can't admit that, then he needs to move on.

The problem is I don't think there is a better coach out there to replace him. I'm not willing to trade a consistent elite 8 coach for a once every 3 years elite 8 coach.

Roy can win without a top 10 recruit. Cal can't unless he has a top 5. That's fact, not hyperbole. We are currently 1 for 12 on top 5 recruits in the last 4 years and he didn't even play the one

btw, Duke doesn't play another road game until January.
