its great but I'd rather play Duke the week after Xmas than in early November where we've had a 3 month head start on them.

While its great for bragging rights, the UK team has an advantage. That's not to say that Duke will be cakewalk, with their talent they could easily beat us if they are prepared.

But I don't think its necessarily fair and I don't like the rule, but of course if its a rule, we should take advantage of it.

That said, I do think this UK team is different - They have all the pieces and its not some team where Cal just recruited the best and tried to make a team out of whatever he got.

Yeah, exploit the rules to your benefit and enjoy the results until everyone catches up with you or until they change the rules. No brainer. I just wish we did it. UK has a two-month jump on must other teams. Things like timing on an offense, switching on D, and getting in game shape are just accelerated.

"We play Duke in the opener for the season. I expect UK to win."

At the very least, the rage at knowing Duke won the recruiting title this year should provide some incentive for UK...

Which is basically what Duke has this year. Won't it be funny if K beats Cal at his own game?

Barrett would be the kid that kills us.

Williamson is big and athletic but we can match that.

Tar Heels heading down to the Bahamas this weekend for some exhibition action. The last time we made the preseason trip to the Bahamas (in 2014), the team lost one of their games (84-83) to the Providence Storm, which featured high school sophomore and Nassau native Deandre Ayton, who had just turned 16 a few weeks prior. He had 17 points and 18 boards...

Carolina gets back from their Bahamas trip today. Not sure if it was a huge advantage in terms of really seeing what we've got, we won the first game 112-91 and the second game 130-45. Well, at least we know we can put up points against teams with no players taller than 6'5"...

Yeah, they get to work on timing and playing as a team, though. All I can think of is how many times Bama last year was Sexton running around with the ball and the other 4 guys standing and watching him. On D, we always seemed confused on who to switch to. How many backdoor layups did we give up? Some games in fucking August might help.

Well, it certainly doesn't hurt. Plus the guys just get to hang out and have a good time, that's worth something for team chemistry. But I don't know that playing a team that you beat by 85 points really does much in terms of a learning experience as far as basketball mechanics goes...

Yeah, your D gave up 91 points in one game. While the other game might not be worth much, I bet there were some teachable moments in the first one.

Roy was upset after that 91 point defensive effort. Add to that the 27 turnovers, and I can guarantee you those boys are going to be puking their guts out at this weeks strength and conditioning sessions.

so that Ohio lawyer was right.

I just got a letter from the state of Ohio letting me know they have put a speeding ticket on my ohio record and will remain for 3 years, but no points are assessed because it was an out of state conviction.

works for me
