Funny thing is, the low-rent housing WILL be built eventually and somebody will pay for it. Amazon/Apple/AT&T etc ponied up big bucks to squash the tax not because they couldn't afford it...those three are worth well over a trillion, 50 million isn't even their coffee bill....it's that they don't want this spreading to other cities. Better that the individual taxpayers of Seattle deal with the urban housing crisis. Anybody can see their point...hell, they got sweetheart tax incentives to locate there in the first place, by the very pols imposing the "head tax."
So Amazon etc are in the clear, and there's still a very sore issue about the burgeoning homeless and who will deal with it. Or if.

Seattle has bigger priorities. Like making sure that the Mariners get their $190 million to keep Safeco Field looking spiffy.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
So the IG report confirms what we already knew:
The Director of the FBI misused his authority and violated all kinds of FBI rules. He was so much in the tank for Hillary he wrote the letter exonerating her long before her investigation was over. And he despises Trump so much he wrote a book and went on tour about it.
The Deputy Director of the FBI abused his authority so egregiously that the IG recommended he be fired, which he was, hours before qualifying for retirement.
The FBI’s Chief of Counterintelligence was so in the tank for Hillary he watered down the language in the FBI report to ensure her legal refuge. Then he vowed to use his authority to make sure Trump never got elected. His Trump hate is pretty clear in his thousands of emails. The report says 5 other FBI agents did the same thing. He was put in charge of the Trump-Russia investigation. Then he was appointed to Mueller’s legal team.
Then we have the Attorney General of United States, having a secret meeting on a tarmac with Bill Clinton just days before the DOJ/FBI investigation into his wife is completed.
And Democrats wonder why half the country thinks the investigations into Trump are a sham. This^is what the Deep State looks like. This is what a Witch Hunt looks like. This is what a coups attempt looks like. This is what it does, how it operates, and why half the country will not accept anything that it comes up with to negate the 2016 POTUS election.

So other than the proven fact that the FBI Director, the FBI Deputy Director, the FBI Chief of Counter Intelligence, and the Attorney General, all violated assorted laws, guidelines, and protocols, all loved Hillary, all hate Trump, but the investigation into Trump-Russia is completely fair and impartial.
Yeah, right.
Yeah, right.

Trump mentioned how much he admires the strength of KJU's leadership and that when he speaks, people sit up and listen. He also was impressed by the praise the NK media were lavishing on hm in Singapore. Does he understand why this is happening? Seriously, what the fuck is up with this guy? Is he really this ignorant or is he not so subtly hinting at his desire for authoritarian rule?

PAGE: "[Trump's] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!"
STRZOK: "No. No he won't. We'll stop it."
... do you not understand? As we describe in Chapter Twelve, during our review we identified text messages and instant messages sent on FBI mobile devices or computer systems by five FBI employees who were assigned to the Midyear investigation. These included
•Text messages exchanged between Strzok and Page;
•Instant messages exchanged between Agent 1, who was one of the four Midyear case agents, and Agent 5, who was a member of the filter
team; and
•Instant messages sent by FBI Attorney 2, who was assigned to the Midyear investigation.
The text messages and instant messages sent by these employees included statements of hostility toward then candidate Trump and statements of support for
candidate Clinton, and several appeared to mix political opinions with discussions about the Midyear investigation. We found that the conduct of these five FBI employees brought discredit to themselves, sowed doubt about the FBI’s handling of the Midyear investigation, and impacted the reputation of the FBI.
Moreover, the damage caused by their actions extends far beyond the scope of the Midyear investigation and goes to the heart of the FBI’s reputation for neutral factfinding and political independence. We were deeply troubled by text messages exchanged between Strzok and Page that potentially indicated or
created the appearance that investigative decisions were impacted by bias or improper considerations. Most of the text messages raising such questions
pertained to the Russia investigation, which was not a part of this review. Nonetheless, when one senior FBI official, Strzok, who was helping to lead the Russia investigation at the time, conveys in a text message to another senior FBI official, Page, “No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it” in response to her question
“[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!”, it is not only indicative of a biased state of mind but, even more seriously, implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects. This is antithetical to the core values of the FBI and the
Department of Justice.

...do you not understand? As we also describe in Chapter Twelve, we learned during the course of our review that Comey, Strzok, and Page used their personal email accounts to conduct FBI business. We identified numerous instances in which Comey used a personal email account to conduct unclassified FBI business. We found that, given the absence of exigent circumstances and the frequency with which the use of personal email occurred, Comey’s use of a personal email account for unclassified FBI business to be inconsistent with Department policy. We found that Strzok used his personal email accounts for official government business on several occasions, including forwarding an email from his FBI account to his personal email account about the proposed search warrant the Midyear team was seeking on the Weiner laptop. This email included a draft of the search warrant affidavit, which contained information from the Weiner investigation that appears to have been under seal at the time in the Southern District of New York and information obtained pursuant to a grand jury subpoena issued in the Eastern District of Virginia in the Midyear investigation. We refer to the FBI the issue of whether Strzok’s use of personal email accounts violated FBI and Department policies

.... do you not understand? We identified numerous FBI employees, at all levels of the organization and with no official reason to be in contact with the media, who were nevertheless in frequent contact with reporters. Attached to this report as Attachments E and F are two link charts that reflect the volume of communications that we identified between FBI employees and media representatives in April/May and October 2016. We have profound concerns about the volume and extent of unauthorized media contacts by FBI personnel that we have uncovered during our review. In addition, we identified instances where FBI employees improperly received benefits from reporters, including tickets to sporting events, golfing outings, drinks and meals, and admittance to nonpublic social events. We will separately report on those investigations as they are concluded, consistent with the Inspector General Act, other applicable federal
statutes, and OIG policy.

...do you not understand?Much like with his July 5 announcement, we found that in making this decision, Comey engaged in ad hoc decision making based on his personal views even if it meant rejecting longstanding Department policy or practice. We found unpersuasive Comey’s explanation as to why transparency was more important than
Department policy and practice with regard to the reactivated Midyear investigation while, by contrast, Department policy and practice were more important to follow with regard to the Clinton Foundation and Russia investigations.
Comey, Lynch, and Yates faced difficult choices in late October 2016. However, we found it extraordinary that Comey assessed that it was best that the FBI Director not speak directly with the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General about how best to navigate this most important decision and mitigate the resulting harms, and that Comey’s decision resulted in the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General concluding that it would be counterproductive to speak directly with the FBI Director. We believe that open and candid communication among leaders in the Department and its components is essential for the effective functioning of the Department.
Comey’s description of his choice as being between “two doors,” one labeled “speak” and one labeled “conceal,” was a false dichotomy. The two doors were
actually labeled “follow policy/practice” and “depart from policy/practice.” Although we acknowledge that Comey faced a difficult situation with unattractive choices, in proceeding as he did, we concluded that Comey made a serious error of judgment.

... do you not understand?Comey’s decision to depart from longstanding Department practice and publicly announce the FBI’s declination recommendation without coordinating with the Department was an unjustified usurpation of authority... Although Comey stated in his press conference that “the prosecutors make the decisions about whether charges are appropriate based on evidence the FBI has helped collect,” by making this public announcement about the FBI’s charging recommendation, and by stating his view that “no reasonable prosecutor” would bring charges, he effectively made the decision for the prosecutors because it would thereafter have been virtually impossible for them to make any other decision.

After this IG report, Mueller will have to revise his report (the one where he recommended Trump be imprisoned immediately, written about a year ago).
Anywhere the report says, “Comey stated that _____” or “Strozk said that _____” he will have to make it say, “Unidentified former FBI Director #1 said _______” and “Unidentified former FBI Counterintelligence Chief #1 said_______”
Then he can go back to carefully reviewing Stormy Daniels’ billing records. He’s sure to find priceless information there about Trump colluding with Russia.
After that, he will order that Manafort be rendered to Gitmo for a rigorous course of water boardings until he confesses to helping Trump collude with the Russians.

I hereby nominate that last "FBI Employee" become an honorary member of the PNN Tick-Cletus-hedge faction. All those in favor say "aye"...10:51:48, FBI Attorney 2: "I am so stressed about what I could have done differently [regarding Clinton investigation]."
10:54:29, FBI Employee: "Don't stress. None of that mattered."
10:54:31, FBI Employee: "The FBI's influence."
10:59:36, FBI Attorney 2: "I don't know. We broke the momentum."
11:00:03, FBI Employee: "That is not so."
11:02:22, FBI Employee: "All the people who were initially voting for her would not, and were not, swayed by any decision the FBI put out. Trump's supporters are all poor to middle class, uneducated, lazy POS that think he will magically grant them jobs for doing nothing. They probably didn't watch the debates, aren't fully educated on his policies, and are stupidly wrapped up in his unmerited enthusiasm.
Horowitz's first IG report was so damning of McCabe that he was fired the next day. Horowitz's second IG report uncovered the sliminess of Comey, Strojk, and the rest of the FBI wing of the Deep State. Remember this: Horowitz has also been investigating the rampant Unmasking/FISA abuses since March. (For starters, I think we'd all like to know why Samantha Power, Obama's Ambassador to the UN, requested over 260 Americans be unmasked in her first year. Nothing fishy about that...) When THAT third Horowitz IG report comes out, it will be absolutely catastrophic to the IC wing of the Deep State (starting with Power, Clapper, Brennan). It'll be so bad that the day after that report is released, Mueller might order Manafort face a firing squad in the prison rec yard. "Shot trying to escape."
hedge: I wish you were shot trying to escape.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Current scorecard:
The Counterintelligence Chief of the FBI, Peter Strzok, just got escorted out of his office building.
The Deputy Attorney General, Rod Rosenstein, may be about to be impeached. Those subpoena'd documents he is refusing to turn over must be radioactive.
The former Director of the FBI, James Comey, is still the the FORMER Director of the FBI, who just got spanked by the most recent IG Report for misconduct.
The former Deputy Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, is still the FORMER Director of the FBI, who already got fired after the first IG Report for misconduct.
The Deep State is being decapitated apace. Is there anybody left on the top floor of the Hoover Building?
