Making a pipe bomb or other similar explosive is not hard and they work quite well. Ask a few soldiers driving the road to Fallujah, or anyone who dealt with the IRA, or the people who have been mailed these things (or had them put in their cars) for decades. Most recently the mailed explosives sent to various addresses in Austin. And they are all very illegal. Just like it was illegal for this kid to buy the guns he had, or bring them to school, or, you know, shoot people with them.

We will never, ever agree on the need to remove a constitutionally protected freedom because a relatively small number of people do bad things; therfore, a continued discourse on this subject would like me trying to talk sense to prof in regard to Trump. Automobiles have stringent regulations for buying, using, and selling, dipshit. Now if we have that for machines used for transportation, don't you think we should probably have it for machines that were made for killing people?

Cars also have stringent regulations for buying, using, and selling. Thousands of them. Like cars, guns have legitimate uses, like hunting and self-defense.

Murders are to guns what DUI deaths are to cars - both legitimate products that are misused by some. About the same number of people are murdered by guns as die in DUI crashes. Except nobody is hyperventilating about banning cars.
