Re: Uncle Bud
The hall, when they entered it, was brightly lighted up; the fire was built high; and about the hearth the whole of the servants, men and women, stood huddled together like a flock of sheep. At the sight of Mr. Utterson, the housemaid broke into hysterical whimpering; and the cook, crying out “Bless God! it’s Mr. Utterson,” ran forward as if to take him in her arms.
“What, what? Are you all here?” said the lawyer peevishly. “Very irregular, very unseemly; your master would be far from pleased.”
“They’re all afraid,” said Poole.
Blank silence followed, no one protesting; only the maid lifted her voice and now wept loudly.
“Hold your tongue!” Poole said to her, with a ferocity of accent that testified to his own jangled nerves; and indeed, when the girl had so suddenly raised the note of her lamentation, they had all started and turned towards the inner door with faces of dreadful expectation.

Re: Uncle Bud
So my cousins son just finished a 3 year stint in prison for selling coke a couple of months ago. Getting out he wasn't allowed to move back home with his parents because his younger brother, who is a great kid with his head on straight threatened to move out if he was allowed back. He had nowhere to go so his mom called me and begging me to take him in until she and his grandpa could figure out living arrangements. I agreed under strict rules because even though he's family, we both have felony records and I could get busted for having him here. Went well for a week or so until he moved in his girlfriend and her baby. Then he started selling again, and not just coke out of my house at all hours of the night because he needed money. I got him 2 jobs at a bagel place and a night time janitor. Transportation was an issue so I let him use my extra car my ex whore used as well. I have breathylizers in both cars (voluntarily since 04) that he couldn't figure out so he kept fucking them up because he's basically stupid. 3 times I had to go back and pay 60 bucks to have them fixed, plus over 500 to get his car fixed. I finally had to kick him out after a few weeks because I didn't want my door kicked in and he never followed any rules. You know the type. 25, knows everything etc. He moved in with his old buddy. Bad move because this kid is total trash. Well guess who got picked up Wednesday in a Blue Ash sting operation? Yep. Posession, intent to sell, in front of a minor and another one I can't remember. So his dad and I went down this morning for his arraignment. 55k cash no 10%. He called me yesterday for help and I said no. His dad said no, his grandpa said no too. No was any of us were shelling out 55k for his dumbass who was warned many times if he didn't change his ways he would be back in jail very soon. He's gonna stay in jail till trial and probably looking at 5 years at least. His buddy got the same charges plus an additional charge with a 25k cash bond for trying to flush the shit down the toilet when they kicked the door in. All I can say is I did my best to help him. I believe he's going to be in and out of prison for the rest of his life. Sad but hey, he refused to go to treatment or a halfway house to get reacclimated. He was smarter than me. Last stint in prison he was taped and youd think that alone would make him change his ways but no, just went right back to his old habits. Again, hes an idiot and I don't feel sorry for him. He just tried again to call me to bail him out and I said absolutely not. I'm rehabbing my house and although I can afford it, it's not gonna happen. What an idiot.

Hey, I was being a good family member. Moving in with me would have been a great move had the moron followed the rules. And yes, probably my longest post ever.

I'm thankful my family has never had to deal with that.

I'm a good host. I promise you that. I would take any of you poop slinging monkeys in if need be. You'd love it. You would absolutely love living in one of my extra rooms. I'm just that way I guess. Of course hedge would need an ankle bracelet but besides that, I'm fun.

Boy Scout campout with my son's troop and my $30 Walmart tent finally decides to start leaking. It's 39° and steady rain mixed with sleet so I'll be spending the rest of the night in the van.
But my Dutch oven jambalaya was the best ever.

2 $7 tarps from Wal-Mart will do a great job of waterproofing a tentSaint wrote:Boy Scout campout with my son's troop and my $30 Walmart tent finally decides to start leaking. It's 39° and steady rain mixed with sleet so I'll be spending the rest of the night in the van.

put 1 tarp on the ground where the edges don't go out further than the floor of the tent, put the tent on top of it, then put the second tarp over the rain fly and use a couple of tent pegs and rope to keep it in place.
also, look on craigslist or clearance for a cheap folding cot. Keeping yourself off the ground - especially in rain -will go a long way in getting some sleep. I always slept like shit in a tent camping, but I learned alot over the years to improve it.
on the cold night, I brought a heater buddy , one of those propane heaters. On low it will keep even the most breezy tent a comfortable 55-60 degrees in a sub freezing night. A 1lb propane tank costs about $4 and will last about 6 hours. The other adults camping gave me shit for it but I was the one up and around at 6am making breakfast while they were trying to get some sleep.

Re: Uncle Bud
The first four times I took the boys camping it ended up raining so we decided we weren't campers anymore. The tent did a great job of keeping us dry, but the thought of it possibly leaking kept me up all night. And then trying to cook over a fire in rain was the pits.
