Can't tell you how proud I am of this team. Warts and all. Third-youngest in the nation. Incredibly flawed. No real post player. Prone to mental mistakes.

Alabama's last NCAA win was against Tom Crean's 2006 Marquette team. Until tonight, that is. Sure, we'll get housed by Nova. But that's okay. We won tonight. Baby steps. Roll Tide.

Then they'll likely face an injury riddled UVa in the Sweet 16. But that won't stop them from whining about what an easy path UNC has...

One had VaTech beating Nova. But it still doesn't squelch my glee at the fact that the majority picked VaTech tonight.

Who was that UK fan on the old uncbb.com site that was real country but agreeable? When UNC made the FF in '99 he posted something like, "Just looking at all the bragging."

I can't say much, I had Arizona in the FF, but it's kinda gratifying that Crow and goldie both had them in the finals. But Crow may be goldie...

All praise to Bama tonight, but I actually watched VT beat us and Duke, the only thing I really knew about Bama was that Sexton was really good and that largely b/c of him they actually mounted a comeback against somebody with only 3 players on the floor. And also that they lost pretty badly to UK last weekend. So it wasn't really a struggle imagining them getting beaten by VT, for me anyway. Not that I thought VT was any great shakes, I figured they'd get handled easily by Nova, which I kinda suspect is going to happen with Bama on Saturday. I doubt many Bama fans are going to take notice of the hoops team anyway, unless they make a run like SC did last year. A win over Nova will start the bandwagon rolling pretty good, a FF appearance and they'll be coming out of the woodwork...

Yeah, Bama doesn't have a chance vs Nova.

Bama was a hard team to figure this year. Won 2 of 3 vs Auburn, 2 of 3 vs TAMU, 1-0 vs Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island. 1-1 vs Florida. Top 5 SOS, but went on a 5-game skid to close the season. We're young and flawed and play stupidly way too much.

Anyway. It doesn't matter. It's been a long dry spell. Last NCAA was 2012 and opened against Creighton and lost by 1. Last win was Marquette in 2006. Just glad to be off the schneid, no matter how brief.
