I have no issue paying for someone’s time be it a roofer, accountant, mechanic, hooker, doctor or other professional. I don’t expect anyone to work for free.eCat wrote:DooKSucks wrote:Time is money. Decided the best course of action since I've never done this before was to meet with a lawyer to discuss writing up a contract which is a fairly template contract that I can download off the internet. I just felt a lawyer giving me a few "you should consider this" and reading the not so pleasant details to the buyer like the foreclosure sections would be appropriate.
I'll called up this one lawyer and her secretary/admin told me that there was a $275 consultation fee, just to find out how much she would charge me to write up the contract and administer it - so on top of the $275 fee, then I'd actually pay her to what I want her to do and that's be a lawyer, print out a damn template, fill in the blanks and read a paragraph to the buyer. So I have to pay her to tell me what she is going to do, and then I'd have to pay her for doing it.
Holy hell, how do those people face themselves in the mirror.
This wasn't even a law firm with a bunch of jew names and & signs in the name, just a woman working out a ranch home in podunk, Ohio.
Do you provide professional expertise for free?
no I don't and I wouldn't expect anyone to, but do you pay a roofing guy to come give you an estimate on a roof? do you pay a mechanic to tell you what he charges to do brakes? do you pay an accountant to give you an estimate on what it will cost to do your taxes? do you pay a doctor to find out what it will cost for an office visit?
only a fucking lawyer thinks his/her time is worth something to make eye contact.

I wish eCat had idiotically blown $50 bucks betting on A&M.

but you know that, you're just trying to justify being in a profession full of scumbags.
I guarantee you if you needed a roof and a roofer told you he'd come out to give you an estimate but the estimate was going to cost $200, you'd tell him no thanks and call someone else.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

A&M fans don't but I love Sexton as a player
It has nothing to do with A&M, the kid won me over when he almost single handedly won the game for Bama playing 3 on 5.
That's legend

That requires professional analysis and thus time. Furthermore, that consult is prevent the attorney from working on something else (theoretically) at that time and thus -- gasp -- costing that attorney money that could be earned elsewhere.eCat wrote: only a fucking lawyer thinks his/her time is worth something to make eye contact.

Call us scumbags, but when you need legal redress to protect your rights (be it an attempt to protect civil liberty, advocacy in criminal or traffic courts or protecting your economic interests), you will be seeking legal counsel. Society doesn't function without attorneys. Our profession provided the individuals who did much of the yeoman's work in drafting the documents that gave birth to this nation while doctors were slitting wrists thinking that was a viable medical treatment.eCat wrote: but you know that, you're just trying to justify being in a profession full of scumbags.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
the cost of doing business concept is clearly lost on attorneys.
you've practiced that response. Probably had to recite in a law class somewhere

put it up for sale, not a person bit at it, changed the ad to offer seller financing and I had 3 people offer to buy 2 days later.

On a related note, the bleach dispenser hose on my washer developed a leak so after I removed it, cut off the leaky part and unsuccessfully tried to re-attach it, I called the local appliance store to if they had a replacement part. $18, they said, for a 5/8 inch black hose measuring 16 in long. And they'd have to order it. Fuck that shit, I said, that's un-American. I went to Ferguson Plumbing Supply today and got a length of hose that did the job for $3. Sang fucking Little Pink Houses on the way home.

That said, he is NOT a shining example of sportsmanship. He believes in trash talk, will drop F-bombs toward the rival's student section, and will do whatever he can to irritate whoever is guarding him when the ref is not looking.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
Mizzou fans were pumped that the SEC tourney was in St. Louis. Then they lost to UGA. They are not very happy at the moment. Enjoying the schadenfreude by reading their forums.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
UK fans were worked up by a Shoneys sign that read St. Louis welcomes BBN, we hoped you packed for 1 night.
Turns out it was fake but they felt it bit Mizzou in the ass.
Sexton is alright talking trash a little, as long as he backs it up.
I didn't bet on A&M, not because I didn't want to but I didn't want to open up an online account. Growing up our Barber was out bookie who lived 3 houses up. You just called him on the phone.
That was simpler.

it starts with $3 hoses, it works up to 5 horsepower 26 gallon air compressors with no end in sightSaint wrote:On a related note, the bleach dispenser hose on my washer developed a leak so after I removed it, cut off the leaky part and unsuccessfully tried to re-attach it, I called the local appliance store to if they had a replacement part. $18, they said, for a 5/8 inch black hose measuring 16 in long.
