I'd agree that the line between the qualifications of the butcher and the assistant manager at piggly wiggly is pretty slim, but then again, its also probably $6K a year difference in pay.
And who would you hire for piggly wiggly management positions? Is there a big pool of highly educated polished labor willing to work 50 hours a week including nights and weekends dealing with rural Americans for $31K a year?

That's my point. There are some brighter young minority kids (or even older ones) who would be happy for that opportunity but the Pig (and maybe other stores but especially PW) always goes for the paunchy, balding white guys with bad teeth and clip on ties to run their stores.

The good news is that it looks like Hillary is going to be the best hope for the neoliberals to regain power in 2020 and that's probably not going to happen. The bad news, aside from the fact that we're not done looking at her soulless and personality-less skank ass on TV, is that there are plenty of other groups out there looking to accomplish the exact same goals. When your society is designed to allow for unfettered greed and unlimited accumulation of wealth and power, you pretty much get what you deserve. In the end all we are is bigger, smarter (only by a little) and slightly less hairy apes doing what has come naturally for 4 billion years, competing for resources. What in god's name did anyone expect would happen with a system like this?

I like Bernie because he's the only major candidate that used the language Americans need to hear as far as changing government to work for everyone, not just the rich. Capitalism by its very nature creates highly polarized wealth disparities and requires systematic wealth redistribution, especially in tough times, to keep the little guy from going under and becoming nothing more than a commodity and a wage slave. He has done an incredible job of waking up millions of Americans to this basic fact. He's more or less just a New Deal Democrat from years past but is considered a radical lefty today due to how far out on the right wing the middle has shifted (labelling himself a Democratic socialist was definitely not wise imo considering the anti-socialism propaganda that is pervasive in our system). Having said that, his foreign policy is not all that progressive. He voted in favor of all kinds of military expenditures, voted in favor of all the pro-Israel appropriations bills, and worst of all, ultimately steered the "for the people" revolution into the hands of an establishment and therefore counter-revolution party. This is unacceptable.
