I think it's wonderful that you can laugh.

And compete.

And give hugs.

I've decided that you're a good sport, Owlman.

You're a dork. But you're a good sport.

Hey, tick, we are going back to the pre-W tax rates. It's already built in starting in 2013. And as long as Oprama is in the White House the Dems have their revenue increase they've been bitching about, and guess what, the CBO projects that, even with the Clinton rates, we are still $500 billion in the hole every year....So libs, you have your tax increase, now compromise and pass the necessary spending cuts needed to balance the budget.

call it what you want fact is medicine is big business. hospitals buy all thos fancy machines, specialists order all kinds of tests, and providers do all kinds of procedures to make money. the more tests procedures etc they can do the more they generate income for their institution and for themselves. thats why when grandma checks into the hospital for her bout with infection wherever it might be you just bought specialty consults from not only the ER doctor and the hospitalists but from infectious disease, the cardiologist, the nephrologist, the dermatologist, and the gamut of tests and images they order to bring in more providers incluuding a general surgeon to biopsy, a pathologist to read it and a radiolgist to interpret ct scan the general surgeon ordered. and lord help you if any tests come back abnormal you just bought yourself another diagnosuis and completer workup. never mind that grandma is 98 years old
Most of the tests I ordered, the radiologist or another physician was paid for that. Physicians generally don't order tests for more money (there are exceptions of course), they order tests because patients have a belief that the more the doctor does for them, the better the doctor. At the same time, the more tests they order, the less risk of a lawsuit occurring (not just as a defense, but because the more the patient likes you, the lesser the likelihood of a lawsuit). Therefore, competition in medicine actually increases the amount of tests done.

Example: Bad cold for 1 1/2 weeks, patient coughing up green phlegm, takes off, comes see the physician. Physicians does an examination, lungs are clear. Patient should be told home and rest, take over-the-counter medication. But many physicians now will order a chest X-ray and send the patient home with antibiotics; just in case. It's more likely a viral infection.

Dang I can't believe it, finally a post from you that I can agree with LOL.

Taxed-out New Yorkers are voting with their feet, with a staggering 1.6 million residents fleeing the state over the last decade, a new report found.

That's as if the entire populations of Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, White Plains and West Babylon combined had packed up and left.

For the second consecutive decade, New York led the nation in the percentage of residents leaving for other states, according to the report by the Empire Center for State Policy.

The population loss is "the ultimate barometer of New York's attractiveness as a place to work, live and do business," said the report's co-author, E.J. McMahon. "It's the ultimate indication that we've been doing things wrong."

I find it cute that you all piss and moan about the gubment and how you vote, blah blah blah.

Guess what? YOU don't make a difference. YOU don't have money, power, and control to make things happen. IF you had these, you wouldn't be posting here that is for damn sure.

Vote for the guy/party that is going to fuck you in the ass a little easier than the other guy. That is the best you can hope for.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

That said, the most liberal part of the state (NYC) is the part that's thriving the most. Upstate is much more conservative overall and that's the part that's emptying out except for a few places (like Ithaca). Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, Utica all struggling. Albany not as bad.

People can move somewhere else but eventually low tax havens are forced to raise taxes themselves if they want to be able to handle the influx of internal migrants. That or the migrants will have to learn to settle for shittier govt services overall. Texas may have one of the best economies and still a low cost of living in most places, but it hasn't improved their schools much and their crime is among the worst in the country. But jobs will outweigh those things for a lot of people.

I swear a box of rocks must be smarter.

Tax revenue went up after W's cuts were fully put in place. It's an undeniable fact. Even oprama's admin has numbers that prove it.

Debt ceiling deal ignores real driver of deficits: healthcare costs

Participants in the debt ceiling debate placed the spotlight on programs with a barely measurable impact on the deficit and put off to the indefinite future the things that really matter.

Woohoo!

Sales of the much-hyped Chevy Volt fell to new lows as did GM share price as July auto sales figures came in. Only 125 Volts were sold during the month of July.
