In for any type of fantasy football
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Re: The NFL
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson recently said publicly that he’d like the team to sign receiver Plaxico Burress. Another member of the Minnesota offense has followed suit.
Receiver Percy Harvin, in an interview with Johnny D and The 757 Club of 1490 AM the Game in Virginia Beach, said that he “definitely, definitely” wants to play with Plaxico.
“I think he’s one of the best receivers to play the game,” Harvin said, “so I would love to have him and get the opportunity to learn from him as I did [Randy] Moss and some of the other veterans I’ve played with.”
As MDS pointed out in conjunction with Peterson’s plea for Plaxico, the fact that Tony Dungy is working with Burress could make Minnesota a potential destination, given the presence of Dungy’s friend and former colleague, Leslie Frazier, as the new head coach of the team.
Burress could be a more affordable alternative to Vikings receiver Sidney Rice, a younger player who presumably will be looking for top dollar on the free-agent market, if the threshold for unrestricted free agency moves back to four years.
If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Re: The NFL
I have no idea what Plax will be like, as far as football shape. It took Vick a year to get acclimated after his bid and he was in for less time than Plax and was younger.
With that said, I hope he comes to Philly.

Re: The NFL
The Vikes have bigger worries. They don't have anyone reliable to throw anyone the ball. Christian Ponder won't be the answer in year one (if ever) so their focus should be on getting Leslie a QB that gives him a fighting chance in a division that should be competitve from top to bottom.

Don't know if Brook came across this blog article. It's heavy-handed in spots, and I think he exaggerates "the hate" per se, but in general I agree with a lot of it.

If only "The People's Champ" was actually a champion on the field... If only James Thrash and the other wide receivers weren't place fillers. And so on, and so on...

Re: The NFL
It was a good read. If McNabb didn't play in Philly, but for Cleveland and recorded the same exact history, he'd be lauded as the king of the city. Forever.
It's a problem with the 215, more than anything, I believe.

Another interesting article that was linked via Maurice Jones-Drew's blog. Pretty candid discussion about Michael Irvin and how he learned to accept having a gay brother.

Wow.
Cards give up Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd round pick for Kolb. And Kolb will sign a five-year extension for over $63 million with over $20 mill guaranteed.
All that for a guy who has started 7 more games than I have...

More guaranteed money than the guy who took his job . . .
FWIW, Chargers beat reporter was on ESPN-LA radio this morning. He said in all seriousness that he and his wife are now house-hunting in L.A. and he expects the Chargers to move to L.A.

During a press conference later, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he answered, "Pay me."

Re: The NFL
Why don't they just build a stadium somewhere around Oceanside and just call them the California Chargers? You'd be about 60 miles from both DT SD and DT LA. No one's completely upset.Johnette's Daddy wrote:More guaranteed money than the guy who took his job . . .

The Pats have Haynesworth and Ochocinco? Belicheck (sp?) has his hands full. Maybe he's buying into his own mythology.
