We didn't cover last year, either. Bit of a let down after the emotional Iron Bowl win. Bama by 14.

Take your pick -
A. Saban likes McElwain and will show mercy with a time eating offense as he did last year.
B. Saban doesn't want to tar McElwain so badly he gets run off to Oregon. He is outrecruiting him in Florida without breaking a sweat and doesn't want to risk someone else coming in and changing the status quo.

Interesting: "Better the McElwain you know" from Saban's perspective.

Nicky Saban is going to do to Washington what Nicky Santoro did to this guy:

I'm surprised that Kiffin is going to Florida Atlantic.

He has done a great job upgrading the offense of the best college team in America. I figured he'd wind up as HC at a much better program than FAMU. I suspect he took a pretty hefty pay cut.

Maybe a lot of AD's remember what he did to Tennessee and USC. Payback can be a female dog.

He did Tennessee wrong, no doubt. He did nothing wrong at USC. He took a team that lost 30 scholarships and went 28-15 in a bit more than three years and never had a losing season. He was fired on the tarmac.

Any truth to the rumor that Saban told him it was time to leave? Kiffin, Butch Davis, Scott Frost and Charlie Strong running the 4 Group of Five teams in Florida should make for some interesting recruiting wars.

EL PASO — USC waited two years for a chance to play in a bowl game.

But based on the Trojans’ performance against Georgia Tech on Monday in the Sun Bowl, it might have been wise to have postponed it another year.

Georgia Tech, which needed an NCAA waiver to play in a bowl, defeated USC , 21-7, sending the Trojans to their fifth loss in six games and a 7-6 finish.

It was, perhaps, an appropriate end to a lost season that began with the Trojans ranked No. 1.

Yeah. He was not offered a contract extension.

It was a joke started by Tennessee fans. The dumber rival fans took it as truth. Not surprising that prof believes it and would deal in it.

There was no issue between them. Some fans started the rumor that Kiffin had sex with Saban's daughter. Some idiots believed the joke as true.

First i'd heard of it. No wonder Saban ran him off. Facts are optional these days.
