I'd definitely be voting for Hillary if Cruz was the repub nominee. Probably if Rubio was, too. I would've considered voting for Jeb Bush or, especially, Kasich, if either one of them had gotten nominated. I probably would've voted for Hillary over any of the other clowns the repubs trotted out. Hell, I'd easily vote for Trump if it was b/w Trump and Cruz...

I was kinda OK with Cruz early on and then he just started turning into a huge slimeball. The more I learned about him as a person, the more I realized he was just a professional politician who was calculating his options as the "outsider" which he planned at least 3 years prior to his announcement. Then Trump became the outsider and he showed his true colors after that.

I wouldn't be voting if it was anyone but Trump right now. Not for Hillary or Johnson.

its not that I"ve ever thought Trump would be a great president

All you have to do is look at Paul Ryan and what is motivating him. Call the republican national committee phone line (you can't - its swamped with angry callers demanding the GOP support Trump) to realize that the GOP isn't interested in representing the people of its own party.

The GOP needs to blow up or at least marginalized. Behind closed doors its no different than the Democrats. If Hillary gets elected, the ghost of Bernie Sanders will haunt her as well - she'll instantly return to a moderate war hawk focused on generating income for her personal gain. The promises of free community college education, debt relief, affordable health care will all suddenly be unobtainable and will be everyone's fault but hers. The millennials and Sanders people will crush her, as well as anyone who expected an extension of the Obama presidency.

People of all stripe typically expect their president (and leader of the free world) to be a statesman and act dignified. Apparently your stripper friend has higher standards regarding leadership than you do.
I will say that for many of the Trump people, they aren't attempting to over rationalize their vote like the Hillary people are.
Trump has zero political experience (and limited governmental knowledge), so what's there to over-rationalize? He's an outsider. So's yer flatulent uncle.
Bluetick is so wrapped up in that he/she won't even address it. The response is to go grab some headline about Trump that is neither criminal nor corrupt but somehow equal in comparison. There is no talking to someone that off base.
I've never accused Trump of being a criminal; like Hillary, he's never been arrested, charged, or indicted of any crime. I merely agree with those who look at his very public pronouncements and consider him to be unhinged and unfit to gain the WH. Simple as that.

I know that Sanders isn't technically an outsider, since he's been a senator for however many years. But ideologically, he is definitely an outsider. So, if it was Trump vs. Sanders, who would you vote for?

I believe Sanders would have killed Trump in the debates and won the election running away.

I would not have voted for Sanders though. I find him to be honest, sincere and dedicated to helping Americans. However I believe his approach to government would result in runaway taxes and spending. With our commitment to national defense, I don't see how we can pay for what we are obligated to now, much less taking on free education, subsidized health care and a standard living wage or base income.

The shackles are indeed off. In FL today, the current GOP presidential nominee opined that "something sinister" is going on with Paul Ryan's deportment since last Friday, and that ISIS will "take over" America and the West if his opponent is elected.

polls are funny things

The full results from Sunday night’s debate are in, and Donald Trump has come from behind to take the lead over Hillary Clinton.

The latest Rasmussen Reports White House Watch national telephone and online survey shows Trump with 43% support among Likely U.S. Voters to Clinton’s 41%. Yesterday, Clinton still held a four-point 43% to 39% lead over Trump, but that was down from five points on Tuesday and her biggest lead ever of seven points on Monday.

Rasmussen Reports updates its White House Watch survey daily Monday through Friday at 8:30 am Eastern based on a three-day rolling average of 1,500 Likely U.S. Voters. Monday’s survey was the first following the release of an 11-year-old video showing Trump discussing women in graphic sexual detail but did not include any polling results taken after the debate. All three nights of the latest survey follow Sunday’s debate.

Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson has dropped slightly to six percent (6%) support, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein holds steady at two percent (2%). Four percent (4%) still like some other candidate in the race, and another four percent (4%) remain undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Eighty-four percent (84%) now say they are certain how they will vote in this year’s presidential election, and among these voters, Trump posts a 49% to 46% lead over Clinton. Among voters who say they still could change their minds between now and Election Day, it’s Clinton 40%, Trump 37%, Johnson 19% and Stein four percent (4%).

That reminds me, I got a text from DS a few weeks ago that read: "Happy Birthday. Drunk. Taking xanax and aderall. Buddy who is doctor gave me viagra sample. Will it hurt anything to pop the viagra on top of the multiple xanaxes and 20mg of aderall coupled with 15+ beers? Figured you might know". I texted back "I just called Lamar Odom, he said it sounds like a party." At any rate, it touched my heart that DS reached out to me in his time of need, and also that he's still livin' the dream...

Yeah, it was Luna. He snuck back after the election using the non de plume 'Billy Tumlin' (fan of the Starbuck Chronicles no doubt).

I wonder if Hillary and Trump are going to attend the Al Smith dinner this year. Hard to see them trading good-natured barbs at a white tie dinner given the level of hostility that has otherwise been the norm so far...

I really don't give a shit who is fucking who or grabbing who's pussy or who is married in name only

my whole thing about the election is who leaves my kids with a halfway decent chance of a united states that still exists

20-30 years from now when we have economic meltdown because we cant pay for health care/retirement/disability/social security etc etc that the govt seems to want to intervene every chance it gets even though Social security and medicare and the VA are all financial disasters we take on another in Obamacare that will in the end bankrupt us.
we continue to stopgap our budget with temporary measures to fund a governmnent that seems to have no long term plan on how to curtail spending except to tax tax tax --I'd be in jail if I kept my books like the govt does-- and what are we up to now working almost the first 6 months of the year just paying taxes before we pocket our own money. no wonder this country knows its easier not to work because all your doing if you work is support the other half who aren't working /wont work.

unfortunately instead of a political system that addresses the future of this country we have one that feeds the entertainment/gossip channels instead

msnbc/cnn have turned into nothing but a social issue megaphone for every perceived injustice out there.

I feels sorry for these future voters--this generation will likely survive but going forward no wonder so many are moving assets outside
