She can only withdraw $400 out of her account? From a teller? I'd cut the fool and demand the manager over.

Had something similar happen one time with a reimbursement check. They thought it was a payroll check and told me that they *knew* Medical center X only did direct deposit (which is true for payroll). Acted like I was a forger. Suggested that they were going to hold my check and call the medical center on Monday. I was asked if I knew whether the check was valid and how much trouble I would be in if it weren't. I had banked with them for over 25 years and had roughly 35 times the amount of the check deposited with them.

Long story short, I got the money and a chunk of the "vice president's" ass that day.

The U.S. economy expanded less than forecast in the second quarter after a weaker start to the year than previously estimated as companies slimmed down inventories and remained wary of investing amid shaky global demand.
Gross domestic product rose at a 1.2 percent annualized rate after a 0.8 percent advance the prior quarter, Commerce Department figures showed Friday in Washington.

pearls from today's WSJ article about the weak recovery:

Despite the current expansion's lack of intensity - or perhaps because of it - it is now one of the longest.

There have only been three longer expansions in the past seven decades.

So far, it has occurred entirely during Barack Obama's time in the Oval Office, making it the longest expansion under a single president[woot!!]. The growth streak would need to extend just a little more than halfway through the next president's term to achieve a modern record.

The average economic expansion since 1949 has lasted just more than five years. Only the expansion during the 1990s made it 10 years. [William Jefferson Clinton baby!!]

To recap for Mr. Learning Impaired, the Great Recession officially lasted from December 2007 to June 2009, a combination of a housing boom going bust coupled with heavy borrowing to buttress two protracted middle-eastern wars. A global recession the likes that no one had had seen for 70 years could have resulted in catastrophic consequences, had it not been for the aggressive actions of the Obama Administration and the Federal Reserve. The Fed lowered a key interest rate to nearly zero in order to promote liquidity and - in an unprecedented move - provided banks with a staggering $7.7 trillion of emergency loans.

Oprama saved our financial institutions, Detroit, the U S of A and the free world. ALL of his years in office have shown American economic growth. You owe yer life and your family's well being to Prez Blacky McBlacky, and please don't ever forget it. Carry on.

History will remember Obama as one of our better presidents, all things considered. History will remember Toe as... actually, history nor anyone else will remember Toe, for anything. It's almost as if he never existed. For all intents and purposes, he never did...

North Carolina Voter ID Law Targeted African-Americans, Appeals Court Rules

The court struck down the law, calling it “one of the largest restrictions of the franchise in modern North Carolina history.”

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/nor ... 4?section=

In its ruling, a three-judge panel at the U.S. Appeals Court for the Fourth Circuit said the state legislature targeted African-Americans “with almost surgical precision.”

“We cannot ignore the recent evidence that, because of race, the legislature enacted one of the largest restrictions of the franchise in modern North Carolina history,” Judge Diana Motz wrote.

Damned librul court impairing a state's right to discriminate.

Just under half of the Republican party voters believe the current economy is screwing them. They are called Trump voters.

Just under half of the Democrat party voters believe the current economy is screwing them. They are called Bernie voters.

So all in all, this "Up up up!" snake oil is not selling particularly well, whatever statistics anybody wishes to quote.

Trump voters blame the GOP establishment, trickle down economics, and crooked trade deals.

Bernie voters blame Wall Street, which pulls the strings of their marionette, Hillary Clinton, who promises to gut Wall Street.

Bernie voters and Trump voters aren't really that far apart. They're probably closer to each other than to the leaders of their own parties.

One significant difference:

Trump voters blame GOP establishment, trickle down economics, and crooked trade deals and Obama

Bernie voters blame GOP establishment, trickle down economics, and crooked trade deals, most Republicans and love Obama
