I have no idea. I have never heard of just taking the uterus and ovaries.

Not an area I'm really familar with, though.

I really wasn't trying to be a smartass, but my question, upon reflection, is either a stupid question or a smartassed one.

It was unfortunately the former.

I didn't mean to suggest that you were a smartass. I actually thought it was a very good pick-up. I just got lazy with the typing.

I didn't and had natural high level, Metformin produces more and I was rushed to ER with liver and kidneys about to shut down from Lactic Acidosis. (excuse if spelling is cockeyed) had IV in both arms, went through seven bags of fluid to flush out my system ER Dr. pissed off because test not done before Metformin prescibed.. Don't miss sweets as I never liked them but crave carbs!!!

(2) Should have spoken earlier to my brother, the internist. For a long time, I was considered a borderline diabetic and was on Metformin. It caused diarrhea (and as a result wasn't really being absorbed). As a result, I essentially wasn't on any meds. Because my sugars weren't normal, they kept increasing the Metformin making the diarrhea worse. My electrolytes remained ok, though. When my Hgb A1c finally climbed, my brother insisted that I changed my meds. Some people just can't take Metformin. Doing very well on Januvia. My Hgb A1C has dropped from 7.0 to 6.0. Currently, I'm in pretty good control

According to my brother, there is no such thing as borderline diabetic, but it wasn't until November that I needed more intervention.

Funny thing is when I started meeting with the dietitian, she told me that I was making a big mistake because I was doing a lot of low-fat, diet substitute food. She had me markedly increase my fat intake and I gave up my carbs, especially grains (bye-bye Jambalaya and pastalaya). My overall cholesterol dropped and more importantly, my HDL which had been low for years increased and are normal.

you are doing great! I would still have lactic acid levels checked after that reaction to Metformin which seems to be the general cure all for Diabetes 2! They changed me to Glipizide at thr ER. My A1c was 6.5 and ' diabetes tech' put me on 4 metformin up from my dr's 2. She then put it back down ( yes a lot of pissing around) it's now 6 and I basically have to watch carb intake. I am a big veggie eater so that's fine, problem in exercising right now as sciatic nerve is pinched , tried cortisone injection, didn't work. Told to rest as much as pos till nerve settles down (!). Bunch of BS really but hurts like hell. Right now I would kill for a baked potato with cheese! No sour cream! But being good on rabbit food, cow fodder --- muesli and drinking lots, non alcoholic  Such are the joys of trying to age gracefully! Personally I think Diabetes 2 is the flavour of the month, it seems everyone has it.

Ottawa Hospital CEO Dr. Jack Kitts recently ate hospital food, and you won’t believe what happened next. Well, if you have ever eaten hospital food, you probably will.

He and other managers didn’t particularly like what they tasted and saw. After food managers choked down three meals a day for a week, there was a consensus that things had to change.

The hospital, after hearing complaints from patients for years, is now revamping its patient menus, introducing quinoa salad and other more contemporary foods, ditching its unpopular retro standby, chicken à la king, and contemplating a future in which patients can order room service late in the evening.

“Thank you for raising your concerns with me,” Kitts responded this week to an Ottawa woman who wrote to him, calling the food The Ottawa Hospital serves patients “appalling” and asking him to fix it.

“Our management team has recently eaten hospital food for a week and agrees with your observation that we need to improve the presentation and taste.”

Concerns about hospital food are not new or unique to The Ottawa Hospital. It has long been a kind of punchline of the food world, renowned for its blandness and, at times, its sheer awfulness.

Gillian Wallace, who wrote to Kitts asking him to do something about the food, said a friend recently referred to the eggs her husband was served in the hospital as “the yellow puck of sadness.”

The food is bad so that you don't want to stay. I think we need to keep it that way.

I just had kimchi for the first time at a local place. It was much better than I expected, matter of fact I really like it. I will have it again.

Kimchi is a condiment. What's the main ingredient in the taco?

heh

it was pretty spicey - 3 glasses of water with lunch

to be fair, this place also had the best tofu I've ever had.

if you would have asked me if I wanted to have Kimchi and Tofu yesterday I would have told you to go fuck yourself, but I was kinda of pushed into and didn't want to be an ass about it. I"m glad I did.

but no - its still in a holding pattern in my colon at the moment

I prefer to buy the assorted box when I get them (from the place in my neighborhood)...2 short rib and 1 spicy pork. They also have fish and a fried chicken one, but I'm stuck on my go-tos.
