That's why many Americans are willing to burn the whole political system down by voting for Trump. They don't like him, but he's not THEM.

You give Trump the keys to our nuclear arsenal then you better pray the political system is all that burns down.

Don't be stupid, tick. I know that's hard, but please try. No leader is going to be pushing a nuclear button. Even the head NORK knows that's not in his best interest.

Why do liberals fear an American President's access to nuclear weapons and have no qualms about an Iranian leader having access?

Amen to sardis.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Hey dumbass, it was an American liberal hisself who ordered the use of nukes..on two occasions. Grab an encyclopedia...or ask a fifth grader about it.

I seriously think Trump is a borderline lunatic. All this coded language about temperament...bullshit, he's got serious mental illness issues and 2/3rds of America suspect it and I am convinced that the 3 branches of the federal government KNOW it. Just his own self-destructive tendencies, the stupid stuff he says publicly that is driving his campaign off the rails...that alone points out how dangerous this guy could be in the WH. Maybe it won't be Trump who brings everything crashing down, maybe it'll be John Miller or John Baron, or maybe some new personality manifestation. And...paranoid much? He spends more time alternately defending himself and attacking others on social media than a pack of 12 year old girls.

I don't believe for a second anybody here considers Trump to be presidential material, and that includes toe. No way, no how.

I get that sentiment. To put it in Star Trek terms: when faced with the Kobiyashi Maru scenario, get close to your enemy and launch the self-destruct sequence.

No. If you're going to use that as an analogy, be accurate: You cheat. You rig the system so you can win. We have rigged it so we are going to lose, regardless. This is the opposite of Kirk's kobiyashi maru.

To cheat by rigging the system, Trump would need to add hundreds of super delegates to the electoral college from states where he is likely to win. Sorta like Hillary rigged the Democrat primaries.

Just don't mess up your Star Trek analogies any more.

And we are indeed facing a Kobiyashi Maru scenario. Faced with a choice between Hillary and Trump, we are clearly screwed either way. This is not "Kirk's" Kobiyashi Maru scenario. There is no "Kirk" in sight.

The self-destruct sequence is indeed imported from another episode. But I think it fits Sardis' point - that a lot of people are willing to blow up the Enterprise rather than surrender it to the Borg.

They used the self destruct in a couple of episodes. "let this be your last battlefield" possibly most famously.

They didn't use the self-destruct sequence against the Borg. You missed that.

Riker was about to go into warp directly into the Borg cube in an act mutual destruction - like Sardis' point about voters for Trump to blow up the political status quo. But at the last second, Dr. Crusher made contact with Picard's consciousness, which told them how to destroy the Borg without destroying the Enterprise.

There are no Dr. Crushers around today:

You missed that reference too.

Now, carry out your prime directive.

I wonder if you'd be willing to apply that analogy to the Dallas shooter...

Liberals tend to blame Bush/Tea Party/Talk Radio for rhetoric which which they believe incites violence. Will liberals now blame the harsh anti-cop rhetoric of BLM for the Dallas shooting?
